Anonymous Caller Id

I have the most awesome talking caller ID phone!
I finally gave myself caller ID for my birthday about a year ago.
I love it!!!

LIBERATING!
I NO longer JUMP like pavlov's dog when the phone rings.
*although, it did take my dog a while not to run to the phone!

It announces who's calling, if it's number available or "private caller". I have 3 people who are private callers.
1 is dying of cancer,
2nd person is my dear old dad
3rd is a business contact which I'm doing some work for. $$$

I don't asnwer number available -- cuz those idiots can dial *82 or leave a message.
2 people I know have that, cuz they have free minutes, and they talk forever!!!

We also have "out of area numbers here" NEVER ANSWER THOSE!!

and those private callers who don't leave messages, don't know me very well!!! cuz if you know me, you at least leave a message!

Some company switchboards don't send caller ID, so it could be someone calling you from work. Also, some calling cards don't give the caller ID, so it could be someone calling you from out-of-state.

There's no reason to be worried about an anonymous caller ID; they can't force you to buy anything you don't want. :-)

RE:
If the Caller I.D. says "anonymous", do you answer it?

Yes, because i think people that dont answer anonymous calls are hiding from someone or acting like they cant find the time to pick up. I think People are busy for who they want to be, if the call is anonymous its someone that wants u to pick up, but knows u will not if u know its them, like annoying ex's, someone selling stuff or creditors. I dont have that problem, so i pick up but some do, and if i did i wouldnt either.

No, I actually don't. Most of the time when it's an anonymous call, they are trying to sell me something, so the hell with them!

Some people have their caller id blocked so that you can not see it to protect themselves. such as people hiding from ex-spouses or trying to protect a child. They hide the caller id so that their location can not be traced. but that is such a rare situation that unless i knew someone i knew had their number blocked i wouldn't answer.

I keep a boat air horn next to my phone and when a call comes in from a telemarketer or prankster I bast the mouthpiece with the horn. Next time you meet someone deaf in one ear ask if they're a telemarketer.

No, I don't. On the basis that it is more than likely to be a call centre wanting to sell me something.
