my maternal grand dad is around 80 now... the thing is that my grandparents are divorced and hes been staying by himself for a while... while my grandmum is fully supported by my uncle, my grandpa has no income.. no savings and any sort of support he gets from my uncles he blows off in some venture or the other.. he cant cook and he would depend for food from a relative who used to stay nearby. he only had a small home kinda far away from the city which he rescently sold off.

hes currently staying with my grand uncle and his wife.. ok so thats a temporary arrangement and he has to relocate soon.. my parents have been discussing this matter with my uncles and when i mean "uncles" i mean a lot.. thie thing is that my grand dad had two wives.. and many children.. its strange that none of his sons what to support him...whats more people try to evade responisbility especially because he is handicapped.. he uses crutches to walk and hes been using them for 20 years or more..he also has

some other medical problems but hes a real fighter.. he even took part in the 2nd world war so hes the tough person kind.

The problem here is that my family have been discussing this and they want to send him to an oldage home!! I cant believe they could even think of something like this! Isn’t it a terrible proposition? What do u think? What should I do? Please help me out!

If he's a veteran he can get into a really nice retirement community. Not a nursing home and RETIREMENT COMMUNITY. There is a difference. They would take care of him, feed him, and see to all of his needs. The bonus part...it's all paid for by the government.
