State law allows local law enforcement officers to stop any child under age 16 during school hours to determine whether the child is truant and, if he is, to send him to school. The law also requires law enforcement officers to arrest habitual truants who are beyond control of their parents during school hours (§ 10-200). Police officers who arrest truants must do so only on the basis of a warrant issued by a judge (§ 10-202).

You and your parents can get jail time depending on the state you live in. You will more than likely get probation, possible fine and/or community service. You should attend school and get your education. I liked to skip school when I was a teenager and my son did it as well. I almost went to jail because of his truancy ticket and it did not seem fair but it is justice for all. You should talk to your parents and explain to them why you don't go to school and see if as a team you can find a solution. School is an important part of you future.

depends on where you live and what the laws are there. The important part here is that you learn from your mistake. Take the punishment and don't skip school again. And remember, once you are an adult and out there in the real world, if you do something to get arrested, it may be much more severe. I hope this incident scares you straight.

You'll live. The punishment from you parents will likely be worse than those form the cops.
Just don't get caught too much so you parents don't get stuck with a fine. I don't know about the laws in your state, but in CA if you're truant too much your parents get hit with a fine.
Next time plan your ditching so that you don't go to local hot spots that cops can/would check...the mall, arcade, Mini golf, etc. Go to a friends house and play Nintendo or something.

First violation, a lecture from the judge and maybe community service, like scrubbing walls or shoveling piles of dirt from one spot to another, to another..... Maybe you'll get to pick up trash for 3 months! Hope you look good in orange.
If you are bored with high school, take the test for your GED and get the heck out of there!
Look into community college. It's a whole other world.

Calm down, not to much. I got picked up once when I was 15 and all they did was take me in for about an hour, make me fill out some paperwork, call my parents and send me on my way. You'll probably get in trouble at home but you're not going to jail or anything

It depends on the Judge, your parents, your grades and what city you are in. You will probably get probation but have to report to a Probation Office with your grades on a monthly basis.

Your education is very important and if you choose to skip school then you choose to live with the consequenses. if you hate school that much then you should consider taking the GED exam. Whatever you do please remember that your parents wont be around to support you forever so it is important for you to do something with your life.
