We see a lot of answers saying evolution is a myth, it can't be proven, it doesn't happen, etc., but I'm wondering how many of you really, truly, honestly believe that living creatures, humans for example, never ever ever change fundamentally?

If so, how do things like increasing average height, life expectancies, lactose tolerance, the appendix, and all those other things that appear to indicate some genetic changes fit into your explanation?

I believe in micro-evolution. I believe that all Christians have a problem with macro-evolution. We just don't understand how we could evolve into differing complex organisms from single-cells crawling out of primordial goo. Where did the primordial goo come from? Of course creatures change fundamentally. I doubt anyone is ignorant enough to say that they don't. It's that whole beginning of life on earth thing that we disagree on, really.

Living organisms change constantly, because reproduction is not and cannot be 100% perfect forever. There are always errors of copying, mutations etc. Therefore, evolution is inevitable, and the more generations pass, the greater the change. Evolution is simply descent with modification, and it is beyond the slightest reasonable doubt that all living organisms are related by common descent.

What about people today being taller than they were 150 years ago. The average height of a person has gone up in that time.

Evolution in that we adapt to our surroundings, causing these genetic changes do exist. There is scientific proof for them. But all of these genetic changes and adaptions happen within the species. We don't become something else. Darwinistic evolution, saying we change from one species to another is what hasn't been proven.

I do not say that. I say that God is behind of this whole operation. He is in control. Maybe He gave us appendix so you can deny Him. You have a free will. We have amazing eyes, hear, the whole system is a mystery..and then I hear people whining about the appendix!!

I am a strong in faith full gospel Christian and I will gladly take this on. There is no evolution in the way most think evolution goes. Yes, there are series of changes that happen over the years. But, the original was created by God. Man may have changed somewhat, but He was still created as MAN. Fish were created as FISH, and monkeys as monekys. We dont change from fish to man, monkeys to man, or none of that malarkey. Yes, due to the degradtion of this planet from sin and misuse, there are changing in world conditions, weather, etc. life expectancy has surely changed. Look at long they lived in Bible times, this is due now to the effects of sin, the natural consequences of not taking care of ourselves or our planet. BUt, we were still created as man, not coming from a frog or a monkey, and do notice we still have frogs and moneksy and fish, no half fish, no half monkeys, no half frogs. no no no.
God tells us in scripture, second JOhn I believe that if science, KOWLEDGE goes contrary to His word, we are to run from it , as it is FALSE.
What God says, Settles it for us true Christians, and thats it.
Plus, you look around us and quickly see that His facts run truthful. see any half monkeys half man lately?????
God said He created Man, the animals, and the mountains, seas, all of it. We may have changed thruought the years, but we were still created as to what we are today, even tho we are beginning to degrade because of natural consequences. and God tells us about these things, if we would only ready it, study, pray and live as He says. The warnings are all there, but few read the Bible, let alone study it to fully understand.
Hope I answered your question. evolution as most believe it is a lie, a myth. yep. but, yes we do evolve as whatwe are, but changing. not into other aniamls, etc. but just chaging in what we are. hope that helps you. great question.
