That's an interesting way of looking at things "adding God." God is already there. Everything good comes from and through Him. There is nothing that exists except that it was created by God.
Sure, I'm thankful to God for BBQ ribs and pizza and ice cream--yummy! I'm also thankful for times spent laughing with friends, grandparents who loved me, parents who have stayed together, a warm bed to sleep in at night, hot showers, beautiful sunsets, a clear cold day when the sky is blue and I can see my breath, the power of the waves crashing on the shore . . . I could go on. Everything good in life comes from God.
You can choose to believe what you want. God has given you that freedom, but the Bible says that he is clearly evident through all that has been made, so that you are without excuse. To choose to not acknowledge God is to choose to live apart from him now and throughout all eternity. In eternity, however, you will be completely separated from all that is good because God's presence will be withdrawn. So, while in this life you get to go your own way and still experience a lot of God's good gifts, it won't be so in eternity.
Blessings.

You ask "I was just wondering, why do you guys add God to everything up to and including the existence of the universe even though there are perfectly good explainations without him?"
How can you have an uncaused cause???

Hey I think your taking some radical view of christians. When I pray I thank him for what he has provided, not for "cooking the food, catching the food, feeding the pigs, stocking the supermarket fridge and all that jazz."
That is ridiculous and frankly insulting.

my deluded friend, your "perfectly good explanation" without God is a lie and delusion from satan. There is no "perfectly good explanation" without God. It takes more faith to believe that the universe "just happened" than to believe that God exists and created by design all that is. I'll stick with God and "add" Him to everything in my life because He sure "tastes" better than anything else. The Scripture says "Taste and see that the Lord is good!"

"We" add God to everything because he is in everything. Without Him nothing is possible. The whole idea of creation is from Him. In Christianity we believe God created everything and for a reason. In the BBQ situation, God created that cow, you to eat it, whoever killed the cow, the grass the cow ate to stay healthy so you wouldn't die when you ate her, etc. There's a whole mess of ideas that flow just from creation itself. How is it that non-Christians believe anything is done without him?

He is our reason for being how can we not thank Him for everything that comes our way? You can keep your perfectly good explanations all you want I still believe in God...And we're not adding Him,. He adds us.

He is responsible for all things---He knows the number of every hair on our heads--He knows what we need before we even ask for it--He is the Man--why shouldn't we involve Him in every little thing in our lives--what will it hurt?
There may be good explanations---but no proof. No one has ever been able to disprove the Bible--which is God's Word to us concerning how we should live our lives.

Well, it all adds up if you think about it. Honestly I don't add God to everything, I wish I did though. The question you should be asking, it why you ask so many weird questions. If you ask me, that's the real question in this statement.
