It's because people think that we (christains) are trying to ram our religion down their throat. They say that you have freedom of religion, but don't want us to have our religion (which is the ultimate irony).
The world has become so corrupt that if you don't do all the bad things in life, people will see you in a negative light

Real answer - no jabs:
I agree with the Trinity belief. I am a Christian. I wasn't taught it as a child. I was brought up by an atheist and and agnostic... I discovered God as an adult. (I said all that to dispell any belief that I was 'brainwashed/programmed' into thinking that way...)
Alot of people criticize this belief simply because they can't understand it.
They need to be prayed for - that God would enlighten them to the truth, and remove the Spiritual blinders off....just like He done for the rest of the 'real' Christians...
It's not like a light switch we can turn on and off...God needs to shed light on this topic for people. Until he does, they're going to be walking in darkness.
I'm sure there are legitimate non-believers in this forum too... and who knows!??! Maybe something they'll read here in Y/A R & S section will cause them to question something.
God Bless.

to start, many people don't like the trinity because they don't understand why christians say "we belive in one god" when it is represented by three diferent people. I personaly was brought up a christian, and i am agnostic now(i don't know what I belive in, or rather I know there is a spirit/god/something controlling everything, but I am not sure what it is). I guess I agree with what you say how christians only do what they are told in youth because I was told to go to church school as a child, and told to become a part of the church but never understood why I had to. i do not agree with much of chritianity because I think man-kind has had too much of an influence on its teachings. if you are really interested in the mystery of the trinity, there is a book called The Flame Tree. It is about a Chritian boy and Muslim Boy who are friends during 911. During it, the christian boy talks much about and explains his ideas on the trinity. It is a short read but sooo good. hope this helps:)

It is wrong because all children are born as Atheists, and the ideas of religion have been either FORCED on children or they have come up with their own ideas about the known universe's origin, and beyond that which is understood in the old days (before Galileo) was explained through an invisible deity which has ultimate power and intelligence.
Those old-day doctrines don't apply to today anymore. Instead, technology has taken over and rules are less harsh. I believe religion is outdated because of that which I have answered to you.
Religion doesn't give power to women, an opposed to today, where they can work and vote and lead good lives.

My good man, it is not that "non-believers" hate it, it is that we use rational thought to come to our conclusions. Rational thought, and scientific facts. Believers of God who work their lives around the bible, ignore simple facts. Does the bible mention when God took the time to make the dinosaurs? No, there are no dinosaurs in the bible....get this, they were here before us....long, long ago...earlier than the bible states "god" created the heavens and the Earth. It's facts like those that make us laugh at you when you pray because as far as we're concerned, you're talking to yourself. We rest our beliefs on science...on proof...on solid evidence. Of which, you have none. I'm not trying to cut you a new one, or anything like that, I'm just trying to explain how I, as an Atheist, "believe". The fact is, we're all here by chance, and how the universe came to be will eventually be proven by science...and I'm sure when it is, Christians will cover their ears while they yell, "Jesus loves you! There is SO a wonderful place you go to when you die, but only if you believe!" Face it. Face your mortality and your insignificance. Yes, we can all be good and make a difference in this world, but the fact is...when we die, that is it. Don't be afraid of it. That's how it is. Now stop giving all your money to your greedy church and by yourself a new car.
Don't waste your life preaching lies, because the only parasdise you're ever going to see is right in front of your eyes. Enjoy it while you're still here.

Ale...All Christian denominations do not believe in it and the atheist use it against us because its not mentioned specifically in those terms in the Bible. They try to use it to get the subject off the real meaning of Christianity or God, and use it against the original church fathers as a made up story. The only way to fight the ridiculous arguments is to down play its importance to Christians. Its sad I know...but they have been taught to get into the trinity argument and get Christians fighting them and other Christians...pretty soon, we have forgotten the whole point.

Because Christianity is based on notorious lies, and anybody who subscribes to it today, when for practically the first time in centuries it's not compulsory, merely makes himself an accomplice in 2,000 years of fraud. That the salient characteristic of the vast majority of Christians is complete and total ignorance of history is no excuse.
As for the Christian concept of the Trinity, it's merely ill-digested and regurgitated Platonism. It's absolutely meaningless theology. You're supposed to be baffled by the concept; "Certum quia ineptum," wrote Tertullian - "It is certain because it is absurd." The idea is that you completely submit your rational faculties to the authority of dogma.

I don't know anyone who thinks believing in the Trinity is wrong or hated. Where did you come up with that? But to answer your question, I am Jewish and do not believe in the divinity of Jesus...I don't hate it...I just don't believe or accept it. Shalom!

I think when I was a Christian, I didn't like that doctrine because it wasn't clear from the Bible that there was a "Trinity" and any time someone tried to explain it, it sounded pretty weird and complicated. Almost sounded like a really bad man-made invention.
