Well in his days, everyone was doing that, but Solomon learned that no matter how many wives or concubines he had, he couldn't be happy without God. So I would say: yes.

Just because he was the Einstein of his day doesn't mean he didn't have his lapses. That's the beauty of the Bible. It shows men back then are no different than they are today. It should give us all hope.
