when i was about 14/15, i went on a radical diet for about 8 months, eating nothing but celery/vegetables/yogurt/soya and noticed my heart started beating really slowly, about 45 times per min, and also low blood pressure.
now, i'v noticed my heart seems to miss a beat every 5/6 times although pulse rate is normal and sometimes even more, it was never like this before.

could my diet have been to blame for changing my heart muscle and causing problems, will i have long term damage?

doctors tell me my heart is perfectly healthy, and theres no way i'v done harm to it, and that these missed beats are normal, but i'm not so sure.

Heart and tooth damage are the main problems from anorexia. If you think you are having problems and your family doctor might not be aware - go see a cardiologist. They could help.

The doctors can tell if you damaged your heart or not.So I would listen to what your doctor is saying but if you want, get a second opinion. I will say that if you were an an anorexic for very long and threw up a lot by using your finger or epicate syrup and didn't eat anything for weeks at a time and used laxatives or did enemas very often then yes this can weaken your heart muscles.

My heart skips a beat each now and then too. i do not understand if that is from strict weight-reduction plan or no longer, I in no way truly concept about that. i wager which may be the reason. I also restricted my food intake for a lengthy time period... you've a heart murmur... yet i'm a great deal surprised your well being care service wasn't able to diagnose that. attempt yet another well being care service and do a touch study on your human being. It does scare me each now and then even as it occurs, besides the undeniable fact that it truly is likely no longer as usually as you. Sorry, attempt a diverse well being care service, it truly is more suitable positive to be threat-free than sorry suitable?

Your doctors would know best, but yes anorexia can cause irreversible cardiac problems. If your concerned get a second opinion.

anorexia is known to put strain on the heart,- so possibly (some anorexia sufferers die of heart failure), but remember that doctors are professionals and you should trust them. Make sure they know that you used to have anorexia

And you think we here at YA know you better than your doctors who have tested you and know all your history? No.

If you are still concerned, talk to them again. You know, we all have little blips at times with heartbeats. It happens. But you your still don't believe your doctors, then find another one.
