In an unopened package, True.
If you freeze it, easily up to 3 months (see link below).
If the package is opened and in a ziploc, it only last a week to 10 days in the fridge, regardless of expiration date - based upon my experience.

Packaged sliced bacon can be kept in its unopened vacuum-sealed package in the refrigerator up to a week past the expiration date.
Once opened, keep it tightly wrapped in foil or a zip-top bag and use within one week.
Sealed packages of bacon can be frozen up to one month before the fat begins to go rancid. You can separate a package of bacon into 4-piece serving sizes for freezing. Be sure they are very tightly wrapped in plastic wrap, then foil, and labeled with the date. These frozen single portions will keep several weeks in the freezer.

If its labeled smoked bacon yes, if not it will get a slimy feel to it. Remember years ago hams where smoked and hung in a dry room. They would get moldy but were still eatable. So read the package and smell and touch, if in doubt heave it out.

Very not true. I only use bacon a maximum of 3 days past expiration, unless Frozen. Then all bets are off. the rule of thumb, if you take your frozen bacon out of the freezer, you can keep it for a week.

If it looks fine, I always do the smell test. It looks fine, smells fine, I'll eat it.
