I'm not here to bash Christians, or anyone elses beliefs ... to each their own ... but, if I'm honest, "faith" based religous people freak me out ... why? because I think it's crazy not to ask questions ... and there are so many different ideas our there to draw from, and I know for me, i'm not afraid to see how far down the rabbit hole goes ... so I ask people of faith, is it so bad to question the bible? ... even something as simple as watching the movie "What the bleep do we know?"

curious_compound - one could make the argument that all religous groups were started by cult figures
Deep Sky - I'm talking about questioning the bible, not bindly believing all the answers reside inside it

I don't care what people believe in, honestly, so long as they keep it away from people who don't wish to hear about it.
What scares me is when they go outside that circle, wanting to change our nation and our Constitution. When they want this country under one faith: Christianity.
Honestly, the only reason they're even allowed to worship as Christians is because this country is/was liberal enough to give their people freedom to worship as they wish.
You take freedom away and make this into a (insert religion here) nation, it'll be another Middle-East.

These people of faith scare the crap out of me.. They are the true cool-aid drinkers. They believe there is a "man" in the sky looking down at them judging their every move, and as long as they do what he says he will give them eternal happiness in his glorious kingdom, but if they don't do what he says, he will subject them to eternal damnation in the fiery pits of hell, but remember, HE LOVES THEM.

qwid,
you are free to question. Didn't the jews and people who crowded around Jesus asked Him questions?
If these christians are unable to answer you questions, they should just admit their lack of biblical knowledge. Not simply excuse themselves on grounds of faith because they don't even understand the scripture to begin with. Otherwise, they would have answered all of your questions.

The way they so glibly churn out nonsense and falsehoods about evolution etc. People that can lie so easily must be lacking in something either morally or intellectually.

What scares me most about people of "faith" is when they hold positions of power and take us all into war based loosely on that faith.

lol, we rely on our faith but by all means we DO question. God doesn't want us having empty faith, He loves us and He knows humans tend to question after all He did make us pretty smart for our own good.
I question Him almost everyday and He shows me through little things the answer to my questions. With that, my faith in Him grows.:)

Having faith does not mean people do not ask questions. or seek their own truth.
There is a characteristic of humans to judge and react on things they see and hear without first hand witnessing it. It has nothing to do with a religion. It's misplaced passion. ie. a man's mistress killing his wife because he says she is a horrible person, who treats him poorly.

I avoid anyone that overrides their humanity in the name of their god. There's been many atrocities committed by such as those.
