Its not love if having debates and discussion can lessen the feeling.

The guy that I am seeing and I ....we get in to heated debates and discussions often...I think we do it to bring out the best in each other as we are both pretty good conversationalists.

Plus, it adds a little fire....no one wants someone that agrees to EVERYTHING they say!

And at the end of the day, we learn more about each other's hot buttons, and how to push or avoid them in the future.

No matter what you do, love will lessen naturally. It's a chemical process that occurs to get people to reproduce and ensure the child can hopefully reproduce in the future. Love declines after awhile, usually matching the stage at which a child becomes less dependent on its parents, and the mother has less difficulty raising the child on her own.

But a direct answer, yes, debates can lessen love. Socks on the floor can. The toilet seat being up, tooth paste tube being squeezed in the middle, etc.

You usually have debates and discussions with those you actually love a lot. The fact that you both have independent opinions make the relationship stronger, and the willingness to not be afraid to speak your mind makes a good relationship too. If everyone just agreed....then the relationship would be pretty fake and boring! It also depends on what you are debating on too...but generally speaking...I think talking strenghthens the bond!

I guess that it could depend on the level of both if it gets heated then i think that it can lessen love. I like to talk not argue. The moment things get heated I tune out and try to avoid the conversation and that gets things even more heated. Then after a while I try all together to avoid any confrontational conversation so sometimes you get bored and do something else

yes. You can talk love to death. Somethings aren't worth discussing. Just accept or compromise. Guys hate constant dialogue on one problem that never gets solved. Keep the debates for the very important stuff

True love accepts another person, even if he/she has a different opinion. Too often in discussions we take a different opinion as rejection and withdraw. Remember to distinguish between different opinion and rejection in your debates-- and keep your head and temper cool.

It depends of the maturity of the couple. It should straightens the relationship; accepting and embracing the differences with an open mind, and RESPECT, like you would do with a friend.

I don't see how. Communication is a big part of a good relationship.

I don't think so. Otherwise nobody would be married for very long.
