Sometimes children are impossible to deal with.
Sometimes parents, are impossible parents.
When the two collide, both factions should seek therapy.

Therapy is a good thing. I went to a therapist when I was younger. It didn't help me much, but it told my parents what the problem with me was. Sometimes being able to open up to someone you don't know helps a child be able to air his or her problems and say things that they never say to their parents without getting yelled at. In my situation, I was getting into a lot of trouble and my grades were dropping. It turns out that it wasn't that I had mental problems, it was that I just thought differently than everyone else and there was some resentment towards my little brother after he was born. I was no longer the baby. I'm 51 now and this was prior to my being 7 years old.

Yes therapy is good for anyone, especially if you have a therapist you like and trust. I'm 50 and my teen years were jacked up bad. At 23 I started therapy and it saved me. Right now I'm dealing with some major issues and I am seeing therapist. A therapist is like a third party so they are not judging you like parents etc. Also a therapist would probably want your parents involved to help you all.

Yes--and not only because of those 'too busy to be home' parents. The reason therapy is good for teens is that they don't tell their parents what's bothering them--and it does them harm to hold it in.
An obstacle might be that therapists may not be allowed to see teens without parent's consent--but a school counselor, a pastor/priest/rabbi, etc. are trained in therapy--and they are under no legal restrictions, that I'm aware of. They could also let one know if he or she can see a different therapist without parental consent.

Yes. Teenage years are the most dramatic. Puberty, starting to date, going through your ugly stage, pimples, etc. It can drive teens bonkers. A lot of things are uncomfortable to talk with your parents about. I never went to therapy, and I'm in my 20's. It might've helped at times, though.

I think therapy is extremly good for teens. There are alot of teens who just cant handel what they are given and what they are going throuhg, and they need an outside source to talk to. my best friend needed a therapist our sophomore year, and it was the best thing she could have done.

it depends on the problem. Parents should always be there for their kids. It will make it easier for a kid to open up if they realize their parents have problems and are judging them

I think it can be very helpful for teens so they learn to accept themselves, learn how to cope with change, and learn how to manage stress. Therapy can be good for most people.
