For anyone wondering how much the U.S. ethanol industry grew in 2006, the numbers are out. Ethanol production increased nearly 25 percent over 2005 figures, according to the latest data released by the Energy Information Administration.

Ethanol Producers Magazine publishes a listing of all ethanol plants in the US and their capcities. By sorting the list by capacity, you'll see that the top five are:

Archer Daniels Midland
VeraSun Energy
VeraSun Fort Dodge
Aventine Renewable Energy
Midwest Grain Processors LLC
