Yogi's because is has a double meaning. It can be taken at face value or you can take it that he means that the future is constantly changing based upon what we do today. Cause and Effect. His is actually more intelligent of the two. Anyone can spout out something that makes people feel good, but it takes someone intelligent to give a quote worth thinking about.

It's a play on words definitely, and it's funny because, clearly, the future WILL be better tomorrow, because tomorrow is the future. It's wittier than the first, which is kind of depressing.

I like them both. Obviously they are from very different points of view. The first seems to be from an older person, simply saying that back in his day the future looked a lot better than it does now.
And the second remids me of a drunk man who is happy and that is all that he has is happy thoughts, so yah the future will look a whole lot different tomorrow!! :)
Personally I like the second one better!!

Oh, that first one's hilarious. I'm sorry, but that first one is definitely funnier. I can totally understand that the future might be better tomorrow, even though it's phrased dumb, if we do something today that's beneficial for the future, tomorrow the future will be bettered.
The future is not what it used to be, because the future was never, yet. The future will be. It wasn't yet. Oh, that's hilarious!
