I have been afraid of death since my dad died at age 45. I did dream of death before that, but it was not of his death--it was of my mom's--who lived many more years than he did.

I think that you need to be able to fall into a deeper sleep, I rarely remember my dreams--but I am a very heavy sleeper.

There is a supplement, Melatonin, which really helps people have good sleep--but you would need to read the label carefully--to be sure that age 16 is old enough to take it. You could also ask a doctor or pharmacist--they would know.

Lavender candles and incense are very relaxing, and may help you into a more comfortable sleep--as might Chamomile Tea, or warm milk.

Be sure not to use any caffeine after lunchtime (chocolate, cola, and Mt. Dew all have caffeine).

Don't eat anything heavy after 5-6PM

If you try all of the above, and still have this problem, I would certainly get to a doctor--who can prescribe a sleep medication--or can refer you to a therapist to work through these dreams.

I wish you well.

try going to bed and concentrating on something that makes you happy as you are falling asleep. Some dream interpretations say that dreaming of death can mean that something is changing in your life, for example maybe you are finishing high school (death) and that you will be going to college (new life). Could be your fears manifesting themselves in your dreams...if it continues talk to a professional who can help you deal with your necrophobia. Good luck.

i've been told that the things you dream, are either what you are afraid of happening or what you would like to happen. i guess that its just whats in your mind. if you could perhaps go and speak to someone and maybe work through your fears and feelings, then over time the dreams should lessen. good luck.

I used to have nightmares about blood and death and just horrible things. I prayed to God to make them stop and I swear that when I really prayed sincerely, the nightmares stopped. Just like that.
