Depends on how many children and how long. You can charge an hourly rate or a flat rate. Start off with $3-5 per child per hour. It doesnt sound like much but can add up quick for both people.

I'm thinking the same thing from the other side. I'm a parent and wondering how much I should pay a teen babysitter. Keep that in mind with parents who haven't had a baby sitter yet, that they are also trying to figure out what is fair. Work it out together. Start out lower (like $5 an hour or $2 an hour per kid) and if you start to work for them regularly and you do a great job and the kids love you, then you can ask (or they should offer!) a slight raise once they see what you are capable of and that you are dependable.

I have also taking the babysitting course, and I know CPR as well.
My Rates
1-2 kids ~ $5.00/hour
Each additional child ~ $1.25/hour
*When you are babysitting a baby under 10 months old, you should ask to be paid a bit more than your regular charge, since you must give more attention, change the baby, feed the baby, and put the baby to bed.

That depends on where you live. Some places, like Southern California, you can charge $8-$10; whereas other places in the midwest you might be hard-pressed to find somebody willing to pay you $4-$5. Your best shot is to ask around to your friends and find out how much they usually get paid. Then take that number and add $1 then ask the people for whom you are babysitting to pay that -- if they balk, then come down.
A few other things to take into consideration:
-- How many children are you watching? (charge more for more kids)
-- Are they going to be sleeping most of the time? (probably would want to offer to babysit it for less)
-- Do you want to regularly babysit for that family? (definitely charge less)
-- Are you going to be doing any other chores, like doing the dishes or straightening up around the house? (charge more)
-- Are the parents stupid and/or wealthy? (charge more)
Bottom line: you need to find that right price that you feel your time is worth and what the family is willing to spend.

Depends on how long and how many children and the age of the children. I would say for each chhild $4-6/hr. If it is an infant and needs constant attention more like $6, but if it is a 6 yr old and is pretty self sufficient $4 an hour.

relies upon on the quantity of youngsters. If it replaced into in basic terms a million newborn, i could fee 5$ an hour, then approximately 3$ in step with added newborn. Or if I babysit for a set time, say 7pm- 2am I in simple terms ask for a flat fee of 30$.

it depends on the kids...how old are they and how many. you`re more likely to get a babysitting job if you work out a deal with the parents. ask them how much they are willing to pay you, and if it`s too low, then go from there. you`re trained, so that`s a bonus. if you are watching a baby, you need to charge more, because they are more high maintenant.

I would say it all depends on the area the you are working in. This is what I always did when I babysat. Ask them how much they want to pay you. It might be more then you thought that you would get. If it is less suggest a different amount. Negotiation is good in every job that you do.

I'm in the midwest and I would pay you $5 an hour to babysit. Then after a little while I'd pay you more if my kids liked you and you were dependable.

I would guess this could very depending on where you live. But, my daughter always charged $1.00/per hour per child. Unless it was late, as in after midnight. After midnight, the cost went up. This included them picking her up and bringing her home.
