Yes, Christian unmarried women and men wear chastity belts all the time before marriage, which is a great thing since it is the best way to keep one's private parts in a clean and healthy state. Actually they are born with the belts and are so programmed that the husband has always the key to his future wife's belt and viceversa, so you see, they really can't have sex before they meet - and then it is only during the matrimonial ceremony that the priest explains how to unlock the belt, so, even after they meet, they still cannot have sex before marriage. Since ancient times (AD, that is) Christians have tried to find a trick to destroy the chastity belts (they do get a little uncomfortable at times), but have never been successful.

No, it's not. Many of them certainly believe they shouldn't, but that's not the same as can't. Fornication isn't clearly defined in the bible, so it is not certain whether premarital sex can be considered biblically wrong. Most churches consider it wrong though. When I was a churchgoer, I didn't know many of the congregation that hadn't had premarital sex - perhaps only 3 out of 500.

While very few people wear chastity devices these days, and even then it is usually a sexual fetish, chastity devices do exist for both women and men. Some women wear chastity devices as an anti-rape measure.

There is no way to be certain and I can guarantee you that the vast majority of all people, including christians, has sex before marriage. An ABC study found recently that 90% of the population (going as far back as the 1940s and 1950s) has had sex before marriage.

I work at a health clinic and I see a lot of people who identify themselves as "christian" coming in for birth control, condoms, and STI testing and treatment. Chastitiy is supported by the religion but not something that a majority of people choose to do. If they did, I wouldn't have a job!

Christians choose not to have sex before marriage. It is a moral decision that they make. They believe that the special feelings, pleasures, committments and ties that go with the act of intercourse should only be given to that one special person in their life, and only after the proper committments and vows have been made before God (and licensed by the state).

No "mechanical device" is needed to stay chaste. It just takes a moral decision. It is no different that a decision not to rob banks, or not to do drugs, or not to axe murder your neighbor.

the spirit of God.
Faith.

yes it is true that christians are supposed to be chaste and not practice fornication.
the definition of fornication, according to webster dictionary i read back in the early 1980's defined it by saying it is premarital sex. But men changed the bible and changed the term fornication in some translations to include all forms of sexual immorality. The term therefore became more broad in terms of what kinds of sexual practices are done in wickedness.
fornication now includes Sodomy and Drug Rape and other improper or unnatural sexual apetites.
in the book of mormon being unchaste is more serious than just a simple innocent act of personal choice to self stimulate. in fact unchastity is nearly stated as being equal in the same sentence with murder, and jesus clearly taught that Lustful thoughts are a form of adultery.

I was just looking at your username...Is that why you 'walk funny'? lol...rotfl...

sorry...couldn't resist. no offense.

to answer your question: Christian's "shouldn't" have sex before Marriage.

...like they shouldn't judge others.
...like they shouldn't steal.
...like they shouldn't tell lies.
...like they shouldn't withhold their money from God.
...like they shouldn't speed.
...like they shouldn't gossip.
...like they shouldn't work on Sundays..
...etc...etc...

There's alot of things Christians shouldn't do...but because they aren't perfect they do 'sometimes'.

no - the unmarried don't wear chastity belts. It's a matter of asking God to keep them celibate. If a Christian is obedient to God, and trusting in God to give them the strength and endurance (and in this case, self-control) they need then He will provide.

(thanks for the 2 points)

Ummm No! Some choose not to have sex before marriage but as far as I know there are no sex police or special devices (chasitity belts) to make sure they don't.....Christians practice freedom of choice. I'm not a Christian.

It's true in most religions to be chaste before marriage. As to how many people insure they stay virgins is basically a test of faith.

Apparently, they avoid women...

I read about a case in the Military, where a devout Roman Catholic man demanded that he not be placed on 24hour shifts with a female partner at an underground nuclear missle silo (where it requires two individuals to place keys inside the trigger mechanism to fire a nuclear warhead)... He claimed that it was not right to place temptation so close to him for such long periods.

What disturbs me about that story is, this guy has keys to a buttom that can launch a nuclear warhead? He cant take temptation of a female for 24 hours and we trust him iwth the Bomb?!?!?!
