christians only, please... we hear about the year of jubilee in the old testament, but when did people stop celebrating it all together and why?

This question is best answered by a Jew. As a C hristian I can tell you it dates back that far, and l I think that last year was the year of jubilee, believe. It occurs every 50 years

The jubilee year is a Jewish celebration. It observance ended with the Roman exile and the destruction of the temple. since the inception of the State of Israel, the agricultural sabbatical year has been reinstituted voluntarily by some. The requirements for the Jubilee do not currently exist...and until such time as all the requirements do exists, the Jubilee can be marked in name only.

They didn't. Catholics still have the Jubilee.

Many of the prophets talked about the Jews not properly using the Jubilee. So it began from the get go. They got in deep doo doo when they were supposed to proclaim the Jubilee year and set all their indentured servants free. They did for a day then rallied them all back. God got angry and gave them over to the Babylonians.

very sad.

Our planet would be in SUCH better shape if we'd follow the Jubilee teaching of letting the land rest one year every 7 years.

This is just a guess but I don't think they could celebrate it after they were taken off to foreign lands so I think that's probably when.
