Please bring the dog inside. Why did you not have him on heart worm preventive? Have you talked to the vet and ask about treatment for the heartworms and about having the tumor removed. Knowing that your dog is sick and in need of treatment and not getting it help is a crime. Besides that don't you love the dog? If so then get him treated or yes have him put to sleep but be kind enough to be there with him and hold him as he passes you owe him at least that.

That depends on several things, 1. quality of life of the dog, is he suffering? 2. Can you afford the extensive treatment he will most likely need? 3.If you pursue treatment, will it add to the dogs pain/discomfort and just prolong the inevitable or can he be cured? These are all things you need to discuss with the vet before you make a final decision. On a different note , why is such a sick dog being kept outside? he obviously needs close monitoring. I have never understood people that get dogs and keep them in a dog house in the backyard. Animals crave companionship, all three of my dogs are "house dogs", they would not know what to do if they had to sleep outside!

No I wouldn't my lab has had heart-worms 2 times. They have done the procedure to get rid of them 2 times. He has been shot with a 22(dont know who or they would have a 22 bullet in tem), snake bite, a sist and other stuff. He is 13. I love him so I do whatever it takes to keep him alive. If I was you I would take him to the vet and get the treatment for heart-worms done on him. He will have to stay at the vet for a few days but it is worth it. They dont know if the tumor is cancerous or not so get them to test it.

If there is nothing your vet can do to make him well, it would be a kindness to put him to sleep. I know this is hard to do since our pets are a part of our family and we love them like a family member. You say he doesn't act sick but you really don't know what he is feeling or whether or not he is feeling any pain. The best thing to do would be to let him go, the longer you prolong it the harder it will be for you. It may get worse for your dog as the illness progresses and I am sure you don't want him to suffer.

Is he being treated for the heartworms and the tumor?
At the vet,he can be treated for heart worm if it isnt a severe case. You should keep a close eye on him outside.Isnt he on heart worm preventive? It is alot cheaper to give him meds to prevent getting heartworms and other illnesses, than to have to treat him when he does get something.
If I were you,I would ask the vet what they suggest.

In order for you to know all of this, You had to take the dog to the vet, am I right?? He is outside and you don't pay that much attention to him to much..am I right??? I really doubt you took this dog to a vet to find out all of this. So if you asking what you should do I would tell you to find this dog a good home. I am really feeling sorry for your dog right now. NO dog needs to be tied outside with an owner who doesn't notice if his dog is sick or not. Which I think very much he isn't.

Regrettably, boxers are not noted for long life spans. However, I do not believe in euthanizing a dog if they are living a fulfilling dog-life. If your dog is happiest outside, if he is active, eating, and doing his dog thing, then let him continue to live his life as long as it is good. My dog is 13 1/2, Great Dane and Pointer. VERY old for a dog his size (150lbs), he has numerous tumors, some suspected cancer (biopsy cannot be done due to his age). On the advise of my vet, he continues to live his quiet life with me. He sleeps on his orthopedic bed, gets glucosamine for arthritis, aspirin when arthritis pain is suspected, and gets loved every chance I get. The vet assures me that he will let me know when his time to go has come. Good luck, seek treatment if you can, and enjoy your dog!

something desires to be carried out. You and your boyfriend at the instant are not equipped to do it. neither is your usual canines coach. talk with an animal behaviorist. it somewhat is not preypersistent (according to risk the cat replaced into) it somewhat is flat out aggression. you're very fortunate that he did not harm the youngster. it somewhat is advisable to think of roughly differences interior the canines's existence to make those behaviors seem interior the final 2 years. What have been the warning indications? have been there any? Did you progression? What replaced in Neo's existence? it could seem completely insignificant to you. Take that suggestions to a behaviorist and with a bit of luck issues will artwork out. until then, determine he's secured once you're beginning the door and don't take him camping out.

Your vet knows best. Quality of life is far better than quantity. If your dog is in pain which he probably is, then it would be a kindness to put him to sleep.

Don't. Try everything you could to help him. If you put him to sleep is just like giving up on him. I am positive that you'll regret doing that because he's your friend. The house will not be the same without him.
