If most religions teach peace love and good moral principles,
Why is there so much nastiness here?

Is there really that much to fear from someone with a differnt opinion?

( I got a hate mail last night calling me something like the ignorant pig span of a born again hypocrite .. and that was just the subject line)

That experience is what is going to draw buys and sell the pay according to view, everybody needs to verify this experience extraordinarily because of the fact it particularly is a Hell in a cellular. Yeah in many circumstances identify fits are the main advantageous experience yet there have been circumstances while the identify fits have been below yet another experience with a much bigger tale, to that end that is Taker and side. That feud is larger than Khali/Triple H and the present international identify scene at uncooked. 2. genuinely comparable to Aries up there, i might continually google or seek for wwe and wrestling appropriate subjects and a hyperlink to yahoo solutions very just about continually got here up, so sooner or later i desperate to easily make an account and spoke back a query and have been given right away hooked in this website, i might get very just about a million,000 factors a week yet have not been as lively at present. I find it disturbing. Yes. But I don't blame religion. Religion didn't make these people hateful. They were that way to begin with. Atheists have no religion. Some of them are very nasty.

I think a lot of Christians are missing the idea of Righteous vs Self-righteous. God loves one. Does not love the other. We have a lot of self-righteousness around here. But again, religion did not make them that way.

All we can do is set the tone. Refuse to allow for it. Ignore the nasty people. Be the best example.

I have to agree that it's ridiculous.

I was reprimanded a little earlier by a user who asked a question specifically aimed at atheists. I was told that since I'm not an atheist, I had no business answering.

Funny thing is, I've been an atheist for most of my life.

That was completely uncalled for, I allow anyone to answer my questions.

I've had hate mail, stalkers, death threats....People are very intense when it comes to their beliefs, and I think the reason for this is that they are questioning their faith. So if you say something that strikes a nerve, they go right off the deep end.

--You are right, especially that sick mail you got. Please remember the worst hypocrites can be that of a religious profile.

--There is something about hiding behind the title christianity that seems to give the fakers some kind of power surge--It does not make any sense.
--One can express strong feelings in strong words without attacking and smiting people with words.
--This expression has been one of my favorites: "You can disagree without being disagreeable" or for those that think they are above others "Its nice to be important, but it is more important to be nice"

--A word of caution, if you have your e-mail visible, I would think about making a change, if in fact that is the kind of stuff you are getting--it can be devastating!

--John expressed why the demarkation of hate & love--and who we or anyone who expresses it can end up supporting.
--In illustrating --It is attitudes,so to speak that start the car(of hatred) and anger out of control that puts it in gear, then it does not take much to put pressure on the gas pedal to make the hatred work--devastatengly!

(1 John 3:10-12) “10 The children of God and the children of the Devil are evident by this fact: Everyone who does not carry on righteousness does not originate with God, neither does he who does not love his brother. 11 For this is the message which YOU have heard from [the] beginning, that we should have love for one another; 12 not like Cain, who originated with the wicked one and slaughtered his brother. And for the sake of what did he slaughter him? Because his own works were wicked, but those of his brother [were] righteous.”

--This love John speaks about is Agape' or principled love, that indeed we would not do anything, we could help, to not hurt even our enemy. Then we have fe'los or the affectionate love---buddies etc.

Most people do not practice this love in a world dominated at present by Satan.

(1 John 5:19) “19 We know we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the [power of the] wicked one. . .”

Have a better day!

I guess it's a sign of the times. It's like a civil war in here sometimes. And they call it debate. But the email you got is slander. I think that it's fine if people disagree. And they are free to say so, of course, but should not attack us personally,
I wonder- perhaps it is a spiritual war! You know- the war between good and evil

Quite agree.

I think there's a couple of things. First, the level of discourse here has been ratcheted down bit by bit, and by a few bad apples. Second, some people on both sides don't seem to have any way of censoring their thoughts before they hit the "Post" button.

It's up to the rest of us, with good humor and patience, to keep the flying sh*t to a minimum, I think.

Sorry for your bad experience.

You will always find people who justify their hate with religion. Of course, these people will usually find something to justify their hate with. Look at sports. There are certain bars in the US that if you walk into one wearing the wrong team jersey, you will be beaten up. A lot of people love their hatred so much, they will do anything to justify it so they can practice it some more.

It's rather fascinating, I think. People who hold strong beliefs, and who can remain anonymous, are confronted in this forum by people in the same situation who may hold beliefs that are very different.

Since we cannot prove that our particular spiritual assumptions are entirely true, there is always a bit of doubt. When our beliefs are questioned, the doubt is stirred up.

We invest a great deal in our beliefs, and when something stirs up the doubt, we become fearful. When we become fearful, we attack the questioner.

It might serve us all, (myself included, of course,) to use this forum as a means of reaching understanding, rather than as a means of defending our dearly held beliefs.

It just goes to show how much hate is in this world. It is truly sad that people can not respect anothers beliefs no matter what our differences may be, and that so much hate is spewed because of different beliefs. I dont get it at all. I have respect for everyone no matter what our differences may be. God Bless

I don't know :( I received a death threat last week.

I think for the same reasons wars are fought over religion. It can produce a knee-jerk hatred in people with a certain mindset. Also, the "anonymity" of the internet encourages nastiness in a certain type of person.
