It is time to become intolerant. Who cares what the world thinks or judges us as doing. The truth hurts but it mends broken hearts and helps the lost.
this is an excerpt from the book "Be Intolerant for Some Things are Just Stupid"
The Only Way
And Jesus said unto His disciples, “Go into all the world, teaching all men to live any way they want, and urging each to find his or her own path to God. Let not any one of you make someone feel inferior or victimized because of your beliefs. Above all, be tolerant. Verily, verily, I say unto you that what you believe and how you live do not matter, so long as you are sincere.”
Leaving that place, Jesus led His disciples to Jerusalem where they broke bread at Club Upper Room. There He addressed them again, saying, “I am one of the ways, one of the truths, and just one possible life. If you are basically a good person, you’re okay in my book. And if you choose to come to the Father (or Mother, if you prefer) through Me, that’s cool. Now go forth to live according to whatever feels good to you.”
And there was much rejoicing.

People get upset about things like this because I think that what you're really asking is "Why can't religious people be free to not tolerate those who disagree with them?" That's a frightening notion because at some point intolerance often spills over into violence.

The problem with the world is sin and at its core is pride. If you step on a person's pride they will lash back at you with everything they have. If you have no pride, then you cannot be offended. Lack of pride is humility. Now, I am not talking about the kind of pride that you take in your work or raising your family or in contributing to your church or your community. I am talking about the kind of pride that tells you that you have personal rights that supersede the rights of other people. In order to be a humble person and a true christian a person must surrender their personal rights to Christ and submit to him in total obedience. this is offensive to the average person and they will lash out at anyone who attempts to take away from them what they feel is theirs. In reality we own nothing and possess everything we have by the will of God. Satan wants to us to think that we have freedom in the world, when in fact we are in bondage to the world because of sin. There can be true freedom only in a life of Christ where boundaries are observed. When boundaries are observed sin cannot abound and therefore its shackles are broken.

Political Correctness. People are becoming increasingly emotionally sensitive. 50 years ago people could take a joke, or engage in healthy discussion of opposing viewpoints. Now it's all personal and confrontational. Freaking wierd.

I'm not afraid to confront religious issues. I'm not afraid to ofend people. I don't intend to ofend them but it's possible that I may simply by disagreeing with them. Fortunately, I am not afraid to disagree with anyone. But that's just me...
We are all aware that intolerance is a two way street. Unfortunately, some of us tend to overlook that fact in our daily lives.

If we profess to be Christians, we will stand up in the face of opposition for what is right. A lot of us lack the spiritual backbone to do this simply because we don't want to offend anyone. I would much rather have someone offended at me this side of eternity than to have them tell me "Why didn't you tell me about Jesus?" on the other side.

Political correctness is going to destroy us all. We are not allowed to be ourselves and speak our minds because we might hurt someones feelings. Poor babies! This is not the world I want. Sounds like censorship to me. I don't care what people call me. I'll speak my mind and stay honest and free.
May God Bless you.

IT like this, people want to be able to attack what they do not agree but yet do not want their belief attacked. The want the best of both worlds.
I would not mind people debating with me about Christianity but then they need to be open to for me to debate those thing that the hold dear.

People are afraid because of the nuts who will kill you and chop your children to pieces if you make any negative comments about their sick religious beliefs.

theres a fine line between challenging a viewpoint and insulting what they believe in. We live in a much more enlightened society now, wheras before sugesting evolution, not believing in christ could get you killed. believe it or not we are lucky to be able to have our own viewpoints.
