depends if they fell asleep at seven or got into bed at sven if it's the first 13hr 45min if its the latter then depends on how fast they fell asleep if it was my daughter she would have 13hr 40mins as it only takes five mins for her to be asleep but every child is different.xx

Depends, if the alarm went off at 8:45 pm and the child went to sleep at 7 pm then s/he would have had 1 hour 45 minutes sleep. If the alarm went off at 8:45 am then the child would have slept for 13 hours 45 minutes. Unusual but hopeful! ;o)

Sounds more like a trick math problem.
Since the clock is "wound and set" I'm ASSUMING it's a 12 hour clock (not 24 hour) and does not have AM/PM setting.

With the above assumptions the child would get 1 hour and 45 min of sleep.

If the clock has AM/PM settings then the child would get 13 hours 45 min of sleep.

Because the clock was wound up and the alarm is set to 8.45, then the child would have have had 1 hr and 45 mins sleep.

13 hours and 45 minutes.

My kids bedtime is at 7:30 and they are awake for school before the alarm at 6:30. Unless the child is very exhausted from the day before I doubt he/she would sleep that long. Or is this a math question?

13 hours! And by the way you only asked how many hours not how long so if this is for school or something like that don't add the 45 mins unless they ask for it.

Well since usually children(or adults for that matter) go directly to sleep when they lay down give them about half an hour to fall asleep or so...which would make it like 13 hrs 15 mins.
