1- its in a cage, jason can't be stopped by a normal human.
2- fighters don't do very well against horror dudes, in the craptacular jason takes manhattan he toyed with the boxer and let him punch him till he got him to the side of the building, then with one punch, jason knocked off his head.
Same happened in nightmare on elm street with that wanna be ninja guy (then again- he was a "ninjer" so he was really just LARPing).
Jason is the type of case where "one punch WILL stop a shoot", one punch WILL end the fight here.
None of gracie's moves would work on someone that superhumanly strong. BJJ and GJJ (in this case) generally work on the principals of bieng albe to pull off submissions or if taken to the breaking point cause breaks in joints or worse.
how does this work against someone who can be shot, burned, electrecuted, dissolved in sewer waste, cut, beaten, drowned, chopped, etc.? Simply it doesn't.
martial artists in these movies have a tendancy to try to fight the enemy head on, an enemy that you can't fight head on will win. you have even further hampered royce by preventing him from escape as it is in a cage, not in a large area he can run and use his wits and the surroundings.
If he's lucky jason will kill him quickly, jason will then turn on the crowd and kill as many of them as he can before chuck norris shows up and roundhouse kicks jason into the future.

Gracie, as he pulls Jason's limbs off his carcas. Strength amounts to a whole lot of nothing in the cage. Technique rules and though I'm not a fan, the Gracie's have written the book on BJJ technique.
