I have an open ticket and my travel agent is going to confirm it for me. Does that mean that I have to get a new ticket folio or do I have to carry any other kind of document with me to the airport?

An open ticket means that no specific flight is booked for the return flight. Once a flight is booked, a new ticket coupon will be issued, or a special sticker with flight details will be attached to the return flight coupon that you already have. It is recommended that you get a printout of your reservation as a proof that you are booked on the flight.

As long as you are confirmed on the flight you have nothing to worry about. An open ticket means it can be booked on any flight as long as there is availability of your fare class.
