stop eating the beans
:-)
Well, actually you are quite right. The caffeine is a general stimulant and amongst other things speeds up gut motility. It makes IBS worse.
"However, since both "regular" and decaffeinated coffees have also been shown to stimulate the gastric mucosa and increase stomach acid secretion, caffeine is probably not the only component of coffee responsible"

coffee does the same thing to me!! Yes, it is normal. Coffee has compounds that increase motility in the stomach and can cause some irritation in the lining of the stomach, either causing diarrhea or increasing bowel movements.

First off, what is this "number 2" . You need to word your questions like an adult. Hot water would probably do the same thing. Between the hot water used and the caffiene in coffee, this is the result. My grandfather used to drink hot water in the morning with the same result.

Me, too. I also have friends that have made the same comment. I think it is a normal. Most likely because coffee contains a stimulant.

what you said is correct. caffeine (and in some cases, hot water) causes a sudden increase in bowel motility in many people. for that reason, some people use morning coffee to stay regular.
