Those books are fantasy. Nothing in the Bible condemns creativity and fantasy. C.S. Lewis certainly used magical elements in his Narnia series as did Tolkien in his Lord of the Rings series and both were devout Christians.

What you write about (your profession) shouldn't matter. If you are not practicing magic yourself, then I see no problem. It turns out that Anne Rice is a strong Christian, who wrote so many murder mystery novels. Who knew?
It's between you and God, it's noone else's job to judge. Stay true to yourself, and to God. Just know that as some people read your book, whether conciously or unconciously, are getting closer to accepting magic and mysticism and the occult as an acceptable belief system, rather than believing in God.

You can still remain a Christian but know what you're writing about and how it relates to the Lord. I've written a short story involving a unicorn but it relates to the Cities of Refuge mentioned in the Bible.

When I was a Christian i was always told that the stories I wrote were too dark, not Christ centered, but I loved to write, so I did it anyways. You should never stop doing what you love, what fills your soul what gives you life and light, and those things come from within you not from a belief in one God or another don't let these ppl stop you from writing and doing what you love.

No magic is of the The God you don't want to serve. If you go forward with it you will be allowing the devil a foothold in your soul. Sometimes we have to choose money over heaven. Good luck friend

God's grace is great. But Paul's advice is to not be a part in the works of darkness. Your Christianity is not based on what you do or do not do. Your actions are just the fruit of your heart. Do you have Jesus as your Lord and Savior? Then you are a Christian. The blood of Christ covers ALL of your sin.

In my opinion, you can write about it. It's a work of fiction, I assume. Just don't practice it even for the sake of your book's authenticity.

Magic is just science that is not understood by one side or not explained by the other.
