My dog, for some reason unknown, constantly licks the floor. Will it hurt her if I mop and she licks the floor? I would wait till after the floor dried to let her back in the house, so will the cleaner hurt her if it's dry?

Not likely, as the floor cleaning manufacturer knows that pets and babies crawl and play on the floor. But it would be a good idea to rinse the floor good to make sure that if she licked alot, she wouldn't pick up a toxic level of something. Alot of floor cleaners have something in them that is very close to antifreeze. It's not actual antifreeze, but has some of the same components. It makes things go farther and I think helps to make the floor dry without streaks.

It is true that some chemicals can have toxic affects on animals. Household cleaners are poisons. Depending on the type of cleaner you use, ingestion can damage your dog's liver, kidneys, heart, skin, eyes, or Central Nervous system...
Please read all labels carefully and use as directed. If you are unsure about a particular cleaner, contact your veterinarian and ask about the best way to use it, or an alternative cleaner. Some companies make "pet safe" cleaners which may be an option.
When cleaning wait a few minutes (for the disinfectant to kill the germs, they don't work instantly) and then clean up the chemical residue with warm water and a mop. allow the floor to dry before permitting any animals or infants from walking on the surface.

By all means wait until the floor is dried.
There still will be a coating of "fresh" chemicals on the floor that the heat and moisture of her licking action will cause her to ingest some of the chemical.
Be prepared to take her to the Vet at the first sign of trouble...
and...this is very important...take along the bottle of the cleaner that you used so the Vet knows exactly what is causing her symptoms.

In most cases, yes. Read the bottle. If it has any warnings about not taking internaly, then yes, it is a danger to your pet.
Keep your dog out until it is dry. You may also check for floor cleaners that are less toxic. Not only for your dog, but for you and your family. I've read where test show that people who use household cleaners are subjected to many more toxins than industrial workers.

Depends on whats in the cleaner. It probably won't hurt her but it could upset her stomach.
I had to change my cleaner because my dogs were allergic to it. They started to break out with a rash on their stomachs from it.

Probably not, but if you'd rather be safe you can buy a non toxic floor cleaner or just use vinigar and water.
