I feel for you. Here is a series of books that will help you.
Basic English Grammar (red)
Funddamentals of English Grammar (black)
Understanding & Using English Grammar (blue)
They are written by Betty Azar Schramfer
Publisher is Longman
I'm an English teacher living in Mexico, and when I decided to undertake this new profession 5 years ago, I looked at many books. Most just confused the issue. While my grammar is and has always been excellent, I, like most Americans didn't undertand why. I only knew that I spoke better than most. These books are extremely well written, and I use them almost daily in my classes here. They are concise and simply written, but don't insult ones intelligence by being juvenile. I suggest that the black one would suit you best and then the blue one when you finish. The red one will be too low level.
The one other thing that will help you is reading for pleasure. Try short novels by Steinbeck like "The Pearl", or "The Red Pony", or "Travels with Charley" (my favorite). He's a wonderful writer, the novels are inexpensive and accessible, and are rather short and easy to carry around with you. Read on your lunch hour, on the bus, in the evening before bed. You're grammar and usage of the language will naturally improve.

Grammar in a room like this is really of little or no importance! Unless, of course, your question is difficult to understand!
Try this! Sit down a write three simple sentences.
Billy went to market bought a ham. (Sentence short and un-finished)
Billy went to the market to buy a ham.(Simple but easy to understand).
Billy went the market to bought a ham.( Bought and buy are used incorrectly and sentence is un-finished).
Say all three of these aloud. When speaking aloud, which one feels more comfortable to you, and sounds as if you know what your saying? It's all a matter of taking your time. There is really no need to rush through something or for that matter, anything! Take your time! There is absolutely no need to use big words that most people wouldn't know the meaning of anyway.. Simplistic at all costs!

Why not pretend to be a foreigner and study some of the courses on line for learning English as a second language? They can be quite brain stretching sometimes! http://www.learnenglish.org.uk/

IS ENGLISH YOUR FIRST LANGUAGE OR NO? YOU KNOW, EVEN THE MOST INTELLIGENT PERSON CAN HAVE TROUBLE WITH GRAMMAR AND SPELLING. ANYONE CAN IMPROVE THEIR GRAMMAR IF THE PERSON IS WILLING TO STUDY AND DEVOTE TIME TO IT. I SUGGEST GOING TO A BOOKSTORE AND BUYING SOME GRAMMAR BASICS BOOKS. OR PERHAPS TUTORING? MAYBE YOU CAN KEEP A JOURNAL OR WRITE LETTERS AND SHOW SAMPLES OF YOUR WRITING TO A TUTOR AND SHE/HE CAN GO THROUGH IT WITH YOU. ALSO, READ AS MUCH AS YOU CAN BECAUSE READING IMPROVES LITERACY. ANYWAY, IF ALL ELSE FAILS, HAVE SOMEONE PROOFREAD YOUR EMAILS AND NOTES BEFORE SENDING THEM. HOPE THIS HELPS AND GOOD LUCK!!!!
