There are so many Scriptures that give us the correct relationship between Father and Son. Well, for one thing, that right there...Father and Son. The Father cannot possibly be the Son. It is ridiculous to even consider, but that just shows why the Bible warns about believing the doctrines and traditions of men...
Matthew 15:9: "It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach commands of men as doctrines.’”
Ephesians 4:14: "in order that we should no longer be babes, tossed about as by waves and carried hither and thither by every wind of teaching by means of the trickery of men, by means of cunning in contriving error."
1 Timothy 4;1: " However, the inspired utterance says definitely that in later periods of time some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired utterances and teachings of demons"
2 Timothy 4:3, 4: "For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories."

a million. examine John 14:17-18 in context, it says you won't be able to make certain the spirit yet you recognize him because he lives in you. note: Jesus stated as the Spirit a HE and in John 14:26 it may practice all issues. I find it funny that you used part of a passage that lists the Father, Holy Spirit, and Jesus as seperate presences. What exactly is a spirit creature by the way? Lets look at several verses together:
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your rememberance whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. John 14: 26-28. KJV
So how do I explain the scripture, well it's got all three members of the Godhead in it. What do you want to know? Why Jesus said his Father was greater? Well Jesus was up in heaven with his Father. And even before man had sinned, God had a plan B for this world. That was Jesus sacrificing Himself for us. So Jesus left heaven and came down here to earth, to become one of us, Christ "humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross, Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Phillippians 2:8-11.
KJV.
So Jesus became human (previously he was just GOD) and abased himself so we might be saved. And he claimed a lesser position behind God the Father.

The idea is NOT that the three are IDENTICALLY ONE, but that there are three (that we know about, truth may be even more complex) DISTINCT identities WITHIN THE ONE GOD.
We know almost nothing of the realm of God. Our minds are restricted in the fact that they almost cannot conceive:
A. An entity so powerful that it says a word and a few million solar systems instantly form in order to comply with that word.
B. Perceives time in a manner analogous to the way humans perceive left and right. At any instant he can be anywhere and do anything he desires. [The relativistic concept called ELSEWHERE doesn't exist for him since he is easily in many different "places" at the same time.]
...
"Greater," as the Greek "meizo" is translated in the version of Matthew 14:28 you pasted, has a much broader range of meaning. My software's Greek dictionary defines it as "greater, larger; older; louder; more." We are not told enough to accurately understand the relationship, but we know that BOTH ARE God: Titus 2:13 "That’s how we should live as we wait for the blessed hope God has given us. We are waiting for Jesus Christ to appear in all his glory. He is our great God and Savior."

Please list the book and chapter with your verse.
God the father is Spirit, Jesus is God in the flesh and the Holy Spirit is Jesus' Spirit.
Jesus and the Holy Spirit are a part of the triune Godhead. They are subservient but not lesser than God the father.
It's like ice, water and steam. They are three different parts of one substance.

There is noone like God, not Jesus, nor any other human being:
Tomorrow," Pharaoh said.
Moses replied, "It will be as you say, so that you may know there is no one like the LORD our God. [exodus 8:10]
"There is no one like you, O LORD, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears. [1 chronicles 17:20]
The verse that you quoted is clear conclusive evidence of the falseness of the doctrine of the trinity, yet most people are too blind to realize it.
Jesus makes clear his nature before God when he states:
Jesus said, "Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet returned to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, 'I am returning to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.' " [John 20:17]
Notice how he says "my God and your God", for Jesus worshipped God just as we worship God, so how is it possible for him to be God?
One of the clearest, irrefutable evidences for the falseness of the doctrine of the trinity, as well as the divinity of Jesus is:
49For I did not speak of my own accord, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and how to say it. [John 12:49]
If Jesus was "his father" he would have said:
"I speak on my own accord, for I am the Father"
But instead, he makes a clear distinction between himself the Father, and a clear denial of being the same being as the father.
These clear decisive verses are ignored by trinitarians in the face of vague verses that can be brought to several interpretations, such as:
"I and the Father are one." [John 10:30]
The idea that this verse points to Jesus's divinity is clearly refuted by the verses:
"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: 23I in them and you in me. [John 17:20-25]
Now according to the understanding of the trinitarians, these verses would mean that all believers in Jesus are God as well!
"The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. (From the NIV Bible, Mark 12:29)"
This is the most important commandment, yet it constantly insulted and rebuked, and denied, and made a mockery of by christian attempt to uphold the false dogma of the trinity.

I don't think that you understand Trinitarian doctrine very well. This doctrine teaches that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all one God, but that they are separate persons.
I realize that it is pretty weird, but that's religion for you.

First, a note regarding the word "Trinity". You will not find the word trinity in the Bible. It is a word that abbreviates a concept. That concept being that God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are three distinct personalities within a single Godhead. It is like the concept of light. Is there such a thing as white light? Yes. Does it exist as one light? Technically, no. It exists as a compound unity of equal illumination of red, green and blue spectrum. So white light does NOT exist? Of course it does. But in the form of three-in-one. Science can explain it, and we have just gotten used to it. In the eternal, such things are equally possible and exist. God is light, and in Him, there is no darkness at all. What color? I would say pure white.
So when Jesus says that the Father is greater, He is referring to THAT part of the trinity. The trinity is not exclusively "one", but is a compound unity. Now, try using the argument that you have given with what He said to Phillip, "If you have seen Me, you have seen the Father." It works both ways. Three separate personalities in one Godhead.
Here are specific scriptures in both the Tonakh and the New Testament. Quotes are by God, Jesus, disciples and apostles.
A Child is to be born as a man who will be the Mighty God.
Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Jehovah says that He and the coming Redeemer are eternal.
Isaiah 44:6
"Thus says YHWH, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer [Yeshua], the YHWH of hosts: ‘I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God.'"
Jesus confirmed the above as well as His being the Almighty.
Revelation 1:8
Jesus said, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Again, Who is the Redeemer? Who is the Savior? YHWH.
Isaiah 49:26
"All flesh shall know That I, YHWH, am your Savior, And your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob."
Before He was born, Jesus identified the trinity.
Isaiah 48:16
"Come near to Me, hear this: I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; From the time that it was, I was there. And now the Lord GOD and His SPIRIT Have sent ME."
Three distinct personalities are seen in Jesus' baptism.
Matthew 3:16
When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
Jews sought to stone Jesus for claiming to be the eternal.
John 8
“Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.”
Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?”
Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”
Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
Jesus says that He and the Father are ONE (heis in Greek which means literally the number 1) Jews seek to stone Him for claiming to be God incarnate.
John 10
"I and My Father are one."
Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him.
Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?”
The Jews answered Him, saying, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God."
Jesus does not rebuke Thomas for calling Him God, but rather promises a blessing to those who would believe later.
John 20:28
And Thomas answered and said to Jesus, "My Lord and my God!"
Jesus said to him, "Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."
Paul confirms that Jesus is God.
Titus 2:11-14
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men... looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
