It seems like everywhere I go, especially lately, I am approached by people asking would I be interested in attendeing their church. I ususally decline and thank them. But they give me their card in case I change my mind. They're nice when the ask and are not at all annoying. This happens to me almost EVERYWHERE I go. It's seems as if they spot me out of a crowd. I'm not complaining, just curiuos as to why they walk past others and come to me? I' believe in God and am not that religiuos. What could it be?

You must look like an easy mark or like someone who needs to be saved. I am not nice to these jerks and they leave me alone. I refuse their cards or hand-outs.

If you want this to stop, (you say that you "usually" decline), just say immediately before they start "I'm not interested" and keep on walking. This is not rude, this happens to these people quite often.

You are not obligated in any way to stop and listen to their pitch, accept their cards, pamphlets, etc., as you would not do this from a person approaching you on the street trying to sell you something.

I'm not trying to sound mean, but people are very judgemental. How do you dress? A lot of ignorant people assume that if you dress a certain way, you must believe a certain way. For example, many stupid people believe that if you wear a lot of black clothing you must be a witch or something stupid like that. Other than that, do you have on any jewelry that might make people assume that you don't believe in God? I'm not a Christian myself, but I went through a very brief "goth" phase in my young teens and this happened to me a lot.

You may just look approachable. I'm sure that it's hard to approach people like that and face rejection. You probably have a nice face. And it sounds like you are kind to them when they approach you, even if you don't agree or want to go. I think people can sense who will be rude and who is approachable. I would take it as a compliment.

I think its just that they do that with so many people that you just get picked a lot. Its just that at each particular time it happens, you don't notice that you are not the only one they have approached - it just seems like you're the only one.
