Well, it could be a few things, but I don't think its an infection or something you'll have to get medical attention to take care of
I think its a boil:
http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/Boil
I would try salt soaks and see if that helps
But I cannot see the area to know for sure what is causing this and what the problem may be. I strongly suggest you see a professional piercer and get their opinion on it.

It does sound like a boil. Use sea salt soaks/hot compress and it should start to clear up in a few days. (1/8 tsp non-iodized sea salt in 8 oz very warm water, take a piece of sterile gauze, wet it and hold it on the bump, keep it warm, do this for about 10 mins 2-3 times dialy untill it clears up)
Stop using dial soap, it's harsh and will dry out piercings, causing all sorts of problems. If the jewelry looked tarnished, you absolutely need to get better quality jewelry, either surgical steel or titanium.

I have my nose pierced and do piercings. My nose, after a time, (I think I had changed my nose stud),had gotten infected . I used peroxide w/ a q-tip inside and A+D ointment on the outside. Care for it as you would any other infection/infected spot. Don't let it go for to long before seeing a dr., you may need an antibiotic. An infection is an infecfection! Hope your better soon!

It sounds like your body is rejecting the piercing and it has a slight infection. I would just keep it clean for a few days and if it doesn't get better then see your dr. I would also find out what kind of metal they used for the piercing because it might in fact be something that your allergic too.
Good Luck

First off you want to take a look at the website i'll jot down on the "know your source" part....so that from now on you are more educated on choosing a piercer before getting a piercing from them.
what you want to do is take out the jewelry...and put some tea tree oil on it. Tea Tree Oil can be found where i used to work, this place called The Body Shop ( i'll leave this link for you to access too) its like bath and body works only the body shop is natural organic products...anywho they sell this little bottle of tea tree oil thats just like $6 and that works WONDERS on bumps like on the ear called keyloids, or surface piercings...my friend went thru what you are going thru and she works at the body shop too and put some on there and it worked great! just get some q-tips and put some oil on them and then rub it in gently. and that should minimize it gradually.

I know if I was you, I already would of popped it, and kept picking at it, BUT DON'T DO THAT, lol. The best thing for you to do is keep cleaning it and leave it alone, call a doctor if it don't go away in another 2 or 3 days. Just keep your hands off it of, you don't want it to get more germs on it. Good luck!

sounds like an infection and you will need meds to clear it up. but make sure you keep it clean and i wouldn't put the same stud back in. Most recommend a cbr to allow healing better vs the studs

That is the body's normal mechanism for ridding itself of foreign material. It sounds like it may be infected too. You may want to see the doc for some antibiotics.

Either the boil situation....or an infected hypatrophic. Either way, the sea salt soaks should do the job Good luck!!

sometimes your body will reject a piercing, you have to be soooo careful when you get pierced to keep it clean. i would see the artist who pierced you and ask him/her what you should do about it. but if its that bad, you need to just leave it out before it gets worse.
