PS: he will bark at all the neighbours walking pass even though he sees them everyday...

Depending on the lineage Poms can be very barky. Many Pom breeders do have them bark softened, because they can't keep them if they upset neighbors etc. And it is better that the dog has a home where it can live with a softer bark than being homeless and put to sleep over a barking issue.

Does he hang around other dogs? If not he could be getting territorial if he hasn't had any interaction with people or other dogs. And there is no real way to train a dog to be less barky ,it's how they react. I have a dog myself and she will bark at people even though she sees them too. And dogs are meant to bark so don't feel bad or anything if your dog starts barking all of a sudden at your neighbors.

Spray him with a squit bottle every time he barks inappropriately. He will get the hint. It worked on my grandma pom who was used to barking for everything to let my grandma know. Since she was hard of hearing.

I use a no-bark collar for my yippy dog. She wore it for a week, and now she never barks! Whenever she starts to bark again, I just show it to her, and she shuts right up. You can purchase them at most pet stores

Use a squirt gun or shake a can of pennies every time he barks and say quiet when he stops when you squirt him after saying quiet give him a treat. You have to be consistant.

i have the answer
get an empty medium coke sized bottle
and fill the bottle with coins, when your dog barks
shake the bottle
it will destract her or him
my dog does the same when anyone knocks
it really works and she is quiet hope i helped

no, theres nothing you can do about it. my gf pombarks and growls hysterically everytime we open the door to leave home.

go to a trainer and ask him whether he knows to train a dog............then try contradictin' him............then ask him to prove himself by training ur dog.............simple..isnt it?
