And is that a good or bad thing?

What I'm asking is what are some good habits you have that have formed in your children, and alternatively, are there any bad habits you have that have also formed in your children?

We make a very concerted effort to not swear in front of our toddler(or any children for that matter!) But every now and then, the "D" word comes out and inevitability, she hears and repeats it. What's funny, is she uses in the proper context.

But she does know how to properly wash and brush her hair. She also knows how to properly answer the phone. She has very good manners for a 2 year old!

She also is very good helping to tidy up. Also, she got her own (toy) tool set for Christmas because she likes to help her Daddy fix things. ;)

Children get bad habits more than they do the good ones, so be very good in front of them.

our 4yr old immitates us both. Its quite hilarious when he farts and leans into you. (learned that from DADDY) We explained he cant do that in school and he understands. But he also has many good habits like being neat and clean and organized. As long as the good outweight the bad - I think its OK.

at early ages kids learn by imitation. They pick everything you do and you say. You hear yourself when they are talking or doing something.

Parents are the role models for sure.

Of course, children follow by example. My son is very good with his manors, always saying please and thank you...those I am sure are learned by me and my husband. On the flip side habits such as saying "damn it" when you hurt yourself or make a mistake is something else he has learned =(

She's both good and bad. She has learned very good manners, like I was taught, unfortunately I need to instill in her some more patience and a little less temper!

Yes, my daughter is my 2 year old mini-me! She has great manners, because I make a point of being polite at all times.

It depends on what they are imitating which lately is not the things I would choose for them to emulate.
