Not that the ossuary with his family names is FOR SURE his, but it seems like most Christians dismissed it outright BECAUSE they believed he ascended. Does that mean Christians are not interested in the whole truth, just in their current beliefs?

it means that people once stuck in a certain belief usually do not change it. It's a matter of principle and rethinking and going to the unknown and having to search for something all over again. I would definately want to know if Christ was not devine because then I could stop tossing around questions in my head about my beliefs. There are people who really do love God and christ so much that if they were to find out that it wasn't real, they would be shattered, and would not know what to do. No one wants to go through that. It's like when you were little and found out that Santa wasn't real. That broke my heart. The same would go for devout people only in would be multiplied by much more pain. I mean come on, there are priests and nuns and pastors who devote their LIVES to this stuff. If they were to find out that it was all for nothing and had real proof, I think most would go crazy or just die of heart break. So cut them some slack.

Since somebody just posted Pascal's wager, I need to post its refutation.

Pascal's wager:

"If god exists, it's infinitely better to believe, since you get heaven instead of hell for eternity. If he doesn't, it doesn't matter since you're dead anyway. So overall it's better to believe"

This is, of course, false.

Some of the problems with the argument:

* The implied assumption that god may exist (with a 50% probability, no less!)

* The assumption that there is an afterlife with a heaven and hell

* The assumption that the god cares about belief in him/her above all else

* The assumption that if you believe in a god, it will definitely be the same god that actually exists.

* The assumption that you lose nothing if it's false. You have lost a great deal, from time praying to a nonexistent entity (somebody mentioned just today praying several hours a day!!!) to morality (your god may ask you to hurt other people) and much more besides.

* The assumption that people can believe in something simply because it benefits them. Would you believe goblins exist for twenty bucks? Why not?

* The assumption that any god won't see through the "believing just to get into heaven" ploy.

Well, Dead_Man_Walking! What a mouthful!

How would you feel after a life of devotion, blind faith, donations, reunions, confessions, and conversions you were told it was all for a false idol? They will never admit to it being Jesus' tomb. Christ! If they can ever prove the DNA match to the cloth that wiped his face on the cross (if it really is the same cloth!), supposedly hidden in the vatican vaults, they just say: "yeah, well, his soul rose, his human form stayed behind"! What else could they do? Return everything they've ever stolen, even lives? I doubt it! Christians don't want truth, they just want fruit for their labour- expensive fruit that doesn't grow on trees!

Well either you believe the bible in faith or you reject it, there is no middle ground. So, I believe he is divine, and in heaven right now. Its not truly a point of debate for me.

I find it interesting that people who don't want to believe in Jesus or the Bible take great pains to disprove it and deny any historical evidence pointing to the truth. Yet the same people will take any evidence (no matter how flimsy or questionable) to the contrary unquestioningly.

You already know the answer to this, they won't even consider a possibility that is outside their canned belief system. They are not interested in the whole truth, just in their current beliefs, as you speculated.

So much so that they can't even answer a question like this.

I know the whole truth as the Bible teaches it...Jesus is God in the Flesh....God made manifest.....I dismissed the documentary you refer to because it is contradictory to what Jesus teaches

Learn the Scriptures....

" You shall die in your sins if you believe not that I am He (the messiah)". - Jesus Christ

"...CHRIST JESUS...who being in the FORM OF GOD, thought it not robbery to be EQUAL WITH GOD: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."
(Philippians 2:5-8)

" In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word WAS God. .....And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us". John 1

" I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the Ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, The ALMIGHTY." - Jesus (Revel.1:8)

" He that has see me has seen the Father" - Jesus (Jn. 14:9)

" In Him is the fullness of the Godhead bodily".(Col. 2:9

I would want to know the truth, no matter what. Most Christians that I know want to continue to believe what they were taught.

Are you a good person? What a question, most of us believe that we are good people because we can look around and find someone that is far worse than we are. We can always point to the things that we think make us a good person.

But how good are we really? Dare we take this test and look at ourselves and see if we really are good? Hmmm.

If you are willing try this and see just how good a person you are.

The Good Person Test.

How will you do? Pass or fail?

Have you ever told a lie?
Doesn't matter how big or small, just a lie.
What does that make you? Before answering think about this, if I told you a lie what would you call me? A liar?

Have you ever stolen anything? Cost doesn't matter, a piece of gum, failed to give back an ink pen that you borrowed, anything.
What does that make you?

Jesus said, "You know the saying of old, you shall not commit adultery but I say that if look at someone to lust after them you have committed adultery in your heart.
Have you ever lusted?

Jesus said that hate is equal to murder.
Have you ever hated anyone?

See one day we all are going to stand before a Holy God on Judgment Day and he is going to judge us based on His Holy Law, the Ten Commandments. These are just 4 of them and how did you do? Guilty? I have broken all of these and more, what about you? How well will you do on Judgment Day?

If we break just one point of God's Law we are guilty of breaking all the law and Gods Wrath abides upon us all. Based on God's Law we are all guilty and all are deserving of punishment. But there is an out for us.

Jesus paid the price for each one of us, took on himself God's Wrath so we wouldn't have to face it on our own. Jesus was beaten, battered, bleed and died so we wouldn't have to face God's Wrath. He rose again so that we would life in his presence. Our crimes, His payment.

The real question is where will you stand on Judgment Day. Pay yourself or have it paid for you. Think about it.
