Or is it a coincidence that one week after asking a question on how to avoid tax, I got an IRS audit.

What tax question? I looked thru the questions you have asked and there is no tax question among them. You have a question about spying on your wife and a question about your wife being abducted by aliens and how to meet interesting girls (I guess since the wife is on alien holiday). However, there is no tax question there.

One week is pretty fast action for the IRS. There's probably another source, or perhaps your last return fit certain parameters on their list.

I'm with you on being suspicous of a lot of coincidences. For example, I think it's probably not a coincidence that Yahoo wants the names of everyone's friends and like-minded people on their new beta features. Another "free" feature that can bite us in rear some day.

Is Uncle Sam watching our internet usage. Undoubtly yes! However, it is most likely that they surf flagged sites. These are usually sites that have things on them that are publically harmful. A good example are white supremisist sites. Most of them are flagged so if one is to surf that topic extensively, you will probably have a tab somewhere. Otherwise, I think they aren't concerned. Remember, Big Brother surfs the net to ferret out political extreemists and sickos that would hurt the general public. They dont care about your taxes(unless you have a huge sum to pay then maybe) Hope that helps!

Sounds like a coincidence. Unless your question advocated overthrow of the government, or assassination, or something like that, nobody has time to worry about your questions on Yahoo Answers.

Based on some of the tax questions asked on this site....I would hope the someone is monitoring them.

The government monitors all Internet traffic. Do a google search for the "carnivore" program.

Probably is. With all the stupid questions and answers on here, I'd think they'd have better things to do.

Sure they are. They monitor all Internet traffic. Why do you think I always praise the I.R.S. in my answers.

wow...that is spooky. I think I'll be a bit more cautious from now on...yikes. Are we still at war with Eurasia, or is it Oceanica?
