Depends if you have an existing license from the States or not.
Be aware of one thing though:
DON'T DRIVE IN MEXICO WITHOUT MEXICAN INSURANCE!
If you don't have it...you go to jail!
And Mexican jails are not a nice place to be.
Mexico is a pretty country but their political system is corrupt beyond your imagination.
Think to yourself of the worst case scenario and that's what can happen to you.

No.. It actual may be very silly. using in Mexico is unlike using in the U.S. Many roads are poor, city streets are very narrow. If a cop stopped you he does not be happy in any respect to verify which you do not have a license.there is no longer something worse than an unhappy site visitors cop in Mexico. you have gotten great problems with the site visitors sops...and that i advise costly. the owner of the motor vehicle might desire to purchase Mexican motor vehicle coverage to disguise the motor vehicle jointly as in Mexico and that i'm specific that may not enable you topersistent in Mexico. you would be definitely specific to have an twist of destiny. Drivers in Mexico RE completely diverse THAN those in the U.S. maximum have under no circumstances had any driving force education, an incredible many don't have licenses or coverage. Many are extraordinarily aggressive.. i'm an American residing in Mexico, and after some years, i and numerous different human beings are nevertheless scared to death using here. do no longer do it.

18, and you have to have a credencial and a liscense. I was told (when my husband when to get his Mexican drivers license) that i could not get one in Mexico without a credencial, and i cannot get a credencial without being a citizen, but that i dont need one, that the Mexican government will accept my US license. So if you get a US license here and are only 16, you can legallly drive there. Keep extra money handy, cops are notorious for asking for tips expecially if u are white or appear to have money.

What does this question have to do with immigration? There is no age requirement. I suggest you only drive there if you know the road signs and rules for Mexican roads. There are very confusing. Many small towns don't have stop signs so make sure you check both ways before proceeding.
