as seen on mythbusters, the only mint used was Mentos. They tried many variations of soda and with regular soda there was little to no reaction, with other diet soda's there was a bit of a reaction but it was diet coke that was the true winner. there was no salt added to the coke, but they did test the reactions with larger quantities of Mentos and that got bigger "fountains"
resist the urge to drink the concotion.... minty coke...in word... ick

They add Mentos (original) to a bottle of Diet Coke.
I saw that episode of Mythbusters on Discovery Channel.

Mythbusters did it once.
If you get two leaders of diet coke, but alot of salt in it, and drop a pack of mentoes and if you do it right, it'll fizz up to around 35 feet.

I even have little ones that could walk by using hearth if there replaced into mentos and coke on the different facet. they are familiar flyer's on our grocery record....and the full community comprises watch. whilst the holler-in' starts and the rocket ingredients come out to play.

murry mints, pollos will not make it explode, or the mint balls as most of it is synthetic just like the coke.
