I'm looking to get a tattoo that symbolizes overcoming adversity and maybe a change in ones life. I was possibly looking at getting a phoenix but I'm open to all ideas. And for all of you jesus freaks, I already have a tat so I'm already doomed to h*ll so save the religious bable. Thanks.

you shouldn't get one if you are not sure on what to get, remember this will be on your body for the rest of your life. You are not ready for a tattoo if you are asking for help from total strangers...

Go to a good tattoo shop (with some kind of credentials) and throw some ideas around with the artist's

What kind of adversity are you overcoming? Can it be symbolized in some way to be used in a tattoo? Choose something you really like & is meaningful to you.
As for the Jesus freaks part---I'm one! Who says tatoos keep youu out of heaven? I'd like to belive my pastor will make...tatoos and all!!! You think the holes in my ears will keep me out? Some people just don't think.

A lot of Japanese/Asian writing uses symbols that mean complex things. Ever thought going international? Maybe something Indian or Native American might be pretty. Depending on where you put it, too!

phoenix sounds good but add some thing else to it like a sun rise or a rose with dew something to show fresh start or new beginnings
