I met this guy through an online dating source, the only thing is he lives in NY and I live in St. Louis. We've talked online of course, exchanged pics, used a webcam, talked on the phone, his mom knows about me, he's a really sweet guy, we hit it off whenever we talk, he's there for me when I'm sad, etc. We've been doing this for about 3 months now, everyday. Well now we would like to meet up. What is the best way of doing this since we are in 2 different states? Should he fly to me, me fly to him, or meet in an in-between city? I'm 26, he's 30 by the way.

I actually met my ex bf of 4 years through the internet awhile back, and it wasn't so bad, and we both lived in other states. So I know it can happen. And I meet guys all the time in person, but they always are sleezy, and can never know the real me, just because they look at the way I look. With the internet you learn to like the person through personality first ya know?

BUT even though I'm 26 (big girl) should I tell my parents where I'm going, if I do go??

I think he should fly to you and you should have a few friends or your parents that know he is coming. You are basically meeting up with a total stranger and anything he has told you including his picture may be false.

There are a lot of crazies out there and you if you are going to err, you need to err on the side of caution. If he is what you think he is and claims to be he will respect you for being cautious.

If you had that experience than you should not ask this question. It is obvious that you like each other and you know it could work, so??? The only thing you have to do is to meet, probably best in an in-between state, see if you like his style, and way of handleing things... Of course talk about a possible relationship and ask his opinion about theese kinds of relations. If he is in to this... you are a big girl and you will do it right. And an other thing...tell your parents... And consider in the future meeting real guys, I mean not on the internet... It is better that way.

You should tell your parents. Just in case something happens. You should meet him midway. I hope it all works out for you.

Meet in the middle, have seperate rooms, in case you do not like him, or vise versa...and figure it out from there.

Let him come meet you first. He needs to come see you. You need not tell your folks immediately but please go ahead and encourage to make the first move
