My GP won't do it. I wear a natural sunscreen all year round so think I may be lacking. I know oily fish and dairy products are good sources but dairy doesn't agree with me and I don't eat oily fish every day. Is there somewhere I can be tested; preferably for free. I think casualty plus may do it but was wondering what other options are available. I live in London.

It is very unlikely that you are deficient unless you dont go outside!! Even with sunscreen you'll still have ample supplies. I wouldnt bother testing. If you are so concerned just buy a low dose vitamin d supplement.

We got a natural cod liver oil with lemon in it from the Nutrition House. I don't
know if you have one near you. You do have to keep it in the fridge or it will spoil.
Get a small bottle until you find out whether you like it or not. I may be strange
but I really do like it. What a change from when I was a kid. The one we have
is a Norwegian brand. Hope you find what you are looking for. It will also help
you with your bones.

I don't know where you can be tested, but I do know that milk is typically enriched with vitamin D as is much cereal. So, if you drink milk and/or eat cold cereal regularly, you may be getting enough vitamin D. If you are concerned, you can always take a multi-vitamin supplement daily, as well.

You can send in your hair to a lab for analysis. NOt sure in england where the labs are. Try internet search. You can also just take a good multi vitamin like womens ultra mega from GNC
