I turned it on today, and the screen flashed white, then went out to the sides an d disapperd, as it always dose when I start up, but then it was a completely black. I heard the sound, turned the volume up and down, and it worked, and I turned the channels up and down, that worked, yet it didn't show me anything...How can I fix this?

turn it off, unplug it for a while, unplug the calbe box form it

let it sit

then set it all up agian and see what happens, this worked for most of the people with this problem

To take the proverbial stab in the dark ! I would look at the tube base board and check for dry soldered joints , see if you can see a glow in the tube neck. look carefully pref in the dark as it could be difficult to see !!.
On the other hand if your TV is not a CRT type forget everything I said ! Its back to the drawing board !!!! Cheers Pete.\
PS. Ok then what the hell is a cable tube, is it in the same cct as the old fashioned clacker valve ?

Sounds to me like the cable tube is blown, same thing happened to me last year. It is hard to replace unless you have alot of electronic experience and a mechanic costs alot of money. So your best bet is to buy another TV.
