There is water ice on Mars, and clear evidence of surface flowing water coming from underground aquifers. We have proven existence of dozens of planets rotating around other starts. Earth is not unique.
It’s only a matter of time before we find life on other planets, why would god scatter his seeds and tell us we were SPECIAL?

OK, all the christians, and theists that believe that life is possible on other planets, you are contradicting your own holy book. You couldn't possibly believe in the goat burning, earth flooding, virgin impregnating, devil betting, son crucifying, old man jerk in the bible.

According to Sam Clemens (Mark Twain) heaven is full of life from other worlds. In heaven, anyway, humans are just a tiny, insignificant minority.

Why would God pick only one planet out of so many that have been created? If there is life on other planets (which I believe could be very likely) they are of no consequence to us, as we can not reach them (yet...possibly ever). Perhaps God created "mankind" on several different planets, and made various scenarios to see how the different planets inhabitants adapted or evolved. To this planet, perhaps he did send Jesus to redeem a fallen humanity. To another planet, perhaps there was no disobedience. We just have no way of knowing. So, if lifeforms were to be found on Mars, I'd praise God for this discovery, and I'd watch intently to see all we can learn from these lifeforms.

I personally believe the universe is teaming with life. It only makes sense. Humanity has always had to deal with understanding the realities of the universe - (the earth is not flat - nor is it the center of the universe) - the universe has not changed - we change the more we learn. I'm quite certain the things we will soon discover will shake the foundations of many peoples beliefs. Humanity has had to deal with that throughout history and will have to in the future. (I also believe in a God or Supreme Being).

Organic material is abundant in the cosmos. Comets, moons and the outer planets all contain organic compounds, so as long as water is present we would expect to find life eventually. Titan and Europa both look like good candidates. This anthropic conceit that humanity is the focus of all existence in all the millions of galaxies and billions of stars is simply ridiculous. The cosmos doesn't exist merely to produce some snake-handling throwback human up in the hills who thinks he's cosmically important to God's war with the Devil.

I personally believe that there is life on other planets. I can't imagine why GOD would create so many other planets and not put life on any of them (except earth). I really don't believe we are all alone in the universe.

I am a Christian, so it would not do anything to my beliefs. Life on the planet Mars is not addressed directly and specifically in the Bible, unless you are refering to the fact that Jesus is said to have made the worlds and that we are commanded to preach the gospel to every creature (which technically means the created beings, presumably only the intelligent ones).

Life on other planets would do nothing to my beliefs...I have known there was life on other planets for some time.

It would do nothing, I always thought that since the Universe is so vast, we probably are not alone (by the way on earth we are not the only spice either).

Just remember that the Bible was written before telescopes were invented. Naturally people back then thought there were no other planets.
