I am very poor about essay writing. I need more knowledge about this matter: how to begin, to develop, and to end, the style or the technic and the structure.

First of all, all good essay start with an essay plan as follows:

Main Points:

Paragrapht two... (etc through to the end of the paragraphs).

I edit papers, and the main problem I find is people really don't know how to write an essay in an organized manner. The best way I can teach it is like this. Write three paragraphs about your summer and what you did. Each one should have an intro sentance, a body with the things you did on that topic (ie, biking, or going to the beach, or having a party) and a concluding sentence. But them together. That is the body of your essay. For the introduction you will write an introduction sentance that lets the reader know, very briefy, about what you paper is about (ie. On my summer vaction I had several exciting adventures) and then one to two sentances, in order of the paragraphs, about each paragraph. At the end you write your thesis, and repeat (with a restated thesis rather than the original thesis for the conclusion paragraph).

Thesis's are not hard to write. Think of it like this. Write a sentance that is very detailed starting with "In this essay I will prove...." Take out the "In this essay I will prove" part, and that is your thesis. Ie. In this essay I will prove during my summer vacation I had several adventures including going for a hike on a mountain, having a barbeque on the beach and getting a new dog. BECOMES During my summer vacation I had several adventures including going for a hike on a mountain, having a barbeque on the beach and getting a new dog.


As for citation styles and the likes, MLA is commonly used for english papers, while APA or Chicago style is used for the social sciences. Both of these can be easily researched by typing the style into google.
