I think creationists are trying to make a mockery of science by turning it into a circus. Fortunately, I don't think they are doing that well, most see for what it is.

The mockery comes from the religious thinking that evolution and science are a religion.

No real scientist thinks so, and they should know. Fundamentalists attept to make a mockery out of science based on their misinterpretations of Scripture. But they succeed only in making a mockery of themselves by publicly displaying not only their biblical ineptitude but also their scientific ignorance.

I don't understand why it is so difficult for people to believe that God would have created evolution. It makes perfect sense to me! Plenty of scientists have said that they have seen the hand of God in the wonders of this world, why is it so difficult for the average Joe (Christian or otherwise) to grasp this?
Stop arguing about whether or not He exists, how He made the world (obviously not in 6 days!), just be glad it happened, enjoy it, and stop abusing it.
We will all know all about Him when we die. If I'm wrong, and He doesn't exist, and I turn to dust in the ground, so be it. I'm not going to have a hissy fit about it now! I've got too much living to do in this beautiful world that God gave me!

The theory of evolution is built on testable, empirical observations which can be proved wrong if contradictory evidence arises. That is what science is, arriving at an understanding through observation.

Science
The observation, identification, description, experimental investigation, and theoretical explanation of phenomena.
Such activities restricted to a class of natural phenomena.
Such activities applied to an object of inquiry or study.
Methodological activity, discipline, or study

At least they are trying to discover the truth of how mankind arrived to where we are. Evolution might be (but I doubt it) completely wrong, and if it is scientists will continue to try and find evidence of the history of mankind. Trying to disprove evolution does not prove your faith it proves your ignorance and delusional mindset.

No... Technically there are no evolutionists, just biologists, paleontologist, archaeologists etc all of which are scientists and most of which accept evolution as a valid model.

No; people who close their mind to evolution are the ones mocking science.
