Right now the largest is the Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas and it will be joined on May 19th this years by Royal Caribbean's new Liberty of the Seas which is the same size and configuration.

It's the MS Freedom of the Seas of Royal Carribean. She floated out of a dock (Aker Finnyard) in Finland on August 19, 2006. The past record holder was the Cunard Line Queen Mary 2.

The largest cruise ship is the Freedom of the Seas. It's an AMAZING ship! I just sailed it last week and loved every minute of it. I'm sure there are larger ships for transport and military but I can't help you there.
