It's not cheating unless another person is involved.

masturbation is not cheating, however, it appears that this man is highly sexually charged, and perhaps he "gets off" on being caught, a fantasy shared by many men. If i were his girlfriend, I would encourage fun new sex games with her partner including fantasy, role playing, and perhapds even some light s&m with scarves, feathers, oils, etc. My bet is that it would spice things up in and out of the bedroom while allowing the boyfriend to continue his solo routine. The girlfriend might even be able to enjoy watching him (another fantasy shared by many) His healthy swexual appetite is normal, especially if he is between the ages of 18 and 25 (The sexual prime for males) I encourage the girlfriend to offer to help explore his fantasies, as well as her own openly so that the couple can both benefit from this incredibly virile young man!

1) somebody actually tries to control his masturbating ("getting busted") Sounds like invasion of privacy by a control freak to me.

2) cheating? with whom, his hand? Cheating to me implies having sex or at least seeing somebody else behind your back...I hardly call masturbation seeing somebody else or having sex with somebody else.

3) masturbation is common amongst almost all male mammals. Masturbation has been held to be healthy for the prostate. Masturbation so long as its not the only sexual release is normal.

4) I recommend that respect hisr privacy, and that you bug off if you are claiming its cheating to masturbate and that he lock the door the next time he has a date with his hand.

You have the problem in my eyes, not him.

No. The key words are that he's doing it IN PRIVATE (meaning whoever's BUSTING him is invading his privacy). Rather than accuse him of being a cheater, perhaps she should talk to him and find out his reasoning on why he rarely has sex with her.

Who's he cheating with? Himself? Wow, then that means I was cheating on my wife for years with myself. Now, come on, that just sounds rediculous. Not everyone has good(or even great) sex with their "other". Im a firm believer in having sex first then dating. If you two don't have fun, comfortable sex then what's the sense of going any further. Maybe he's bi, maybe he just doesn't get the most out of the sex you two have.

He may have a sex addiction. Check for pornolgraphy, including the computer. If there is child porn on there, watching him like a hawk and seeing if he spends time lookin at young girls would be a start.
The real question is what is he fantasising about while he is doing it.....and dont bother asking, 'cos he probably wont give you a straight answer anyway.

Oh you poor thing! You've got to get away from him! The thing is, this is a sick man. It's a psychological problem that you will never be able to understand or fix. i had this problem for 4 yrs. And, yes, it is a form of cheating. This kind of behavior is very destructive to your relationship as well as your confidence in yourself as a woman. You start to have serious doubts about yourself that usually lead to you becoming increasingly insecure and he'll try to rationalize his own behavior by yelling and screaming at you and saying that you're to blame for what he is doing, but, don't you believe it girl!!!!!! What he does is a mental illness, and has absolutely nothing to do with you! My advice is to get out now, before you totally forget who you are! This will lead to a break up sooner or later anyway, so why not spare yourself the pain of it all later on? You deserve better!

First of all, I would want to know why the hell he keeps jerking off rather than getting the real thing that is right in his face. Its not cheating because he's doing it to himself. You need to seriously talk this over with him. Why would he prefer his hand over you?

He's by himself so no it's not cheating.

If I was his girlfriend, I'd be starting to wonder why he'd rather jerk off then have sex with me though.
