Why are you answering with questions, its not like I'm goign to answer every single on of them, or even one. Does asking questions to a question make you feel smarter, or like ur belittling me?

Obviously I did mean to post this question in "religion and spirituality," I was just joking by saying that I didn't.

Early on. My parents were taking me to church for as young as I can remember. It wasn't until around high school that I started being able to break out of it and shedding the superstition. It's amazing how strong such indoctrination can be.

I have been baptized as an orthodox Christian, yet no one has really tried (or if they have tried, they haven't succeeded) to brainwash me (the way other people react to my ideas does lead me to this conclusion, at least - well if you don't buy this, you can read my other answers and see for yourself). Besides, if someone agrees that they have been brainwashed, then the brainwashing process has not been really successful, so I don't think you can get real answers to this question.
Edit: you have placed this question under the Religion & Spirituality section, so, if you did not mean religious brainwashing, then you must have miscathegorized your question.
About the question vs question - I have rephrased my answer.
edit - so you wanted to make a point that brainwashing does imply religion and vice versa (since people do not talk about brainwashing without involving religion). Well if that's that, then you cheated a little, because placing the question here would make people think immediately that you've meant religious brainwashing, so they'll answer accordingly :)

As soon as I was able to understand speech of course, like all of us.
If something goes into our heads, it sticks. You can logically figure it, prove it right or wrong, but it is still there. Brainwashing isn't something we can win, only something we can beat.
As for the more conventional definition of brainwashing, that would be at school, when the teachers tried to teach me all the things I already knew in ways which were wrong and made no sense.
If you are referring to religious brainwashing, I actually signed up for this one myself at round about 8 years old. I desperately craved something that wasn't all facts and numbers, so I chose the church as it was really far outside my logical thinking. The mantras and ceremonies were fairly spectacular and the things it did to my mind was pleasing so I chose to believe. 15 years older and I had grown tired of the hypocrisy and several attempted advances by a child-molester churchwarden so I ditched the concepts I had learned as well as I was able to. Not well enough, of course. I still retain the sense of guilt which is often at odds with my sense of morality. All in all it was a bad decision to choose to be religiously brainwashed, but I am making up for it now.
ChaChaCHA: If you aren't talking about religious brainwashing then why do you post in this category ?

This question is so unclear. As someone else stated, you have this question listed under Religion and Spirituality, but you are stark-raving mad at people for answering your pathetic question based upon religion. And what in the hell do you mean by "brainwashing"? What is that pertaining to? If you're talking spiritually (since it's in the religion and spiritual section)--I believe in God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost as one being. The Lord is my Creator and Savior. Now, if that's brainwashing, maybe you need to get some soap and water and get to washing!
And please review your questions before you start posting unclear nonsense. Thank you.

I believe in Jesus, and I do not consider believing in Jesus being brainwashed. I consider it beautiful and pray that one day I am worthy enough to meet him. Now a question for you...At what age did you become mentally ill????? And have you sought help? May whoever you believe in help you get through life.....because if you think any type of religion is brainwashing..you need help.

I would not use that word. As a child I believed what my parents told me. That is why it is great that children belong to God no matter what.
I walked away from my childhood faith. But Jesus did not give up on me, He still pulls me gently to the right direction. I found my way back. I asked Holy Spirit to guide me, that made the difference.
I still have sin issues like we all, but Jesus forgives. I want to be with Him here and after. I love to study His Word. And He communicates with me through the Bible. So I would never use a brainwash word with this process. : )

When I was about 29. I grew up in an athiest household. I wish I would have listened more to my father, it would have saved me a lot of torment and heartache. So it took me many years to see what my father had known when I was a kid. My father is a patient man.

Probably the age of five, the year I started going to public schooling. God and anything to do with Him were pretty much removed from school about seven years later. They gave me quite a go of it, but they didn't manage to brainwash me into believing their junk about evolution. But man! They tried!

I was born into a Fundamentalist home so it was pretty much from the get go. It took a number of years for me to really begin questioning.
