We did a three season screen room on our last house and loved it so much we're doing one on this house next month. 4 season ones cost a lot - 15K to 35K depending on size.

Our screen room was 14x20 and was just under 6K - that includes the carpet we put down and the lighted fans we installed after it was up. For carpet we used an indoor/outdoor Berber - don't think astro-turf, NOTHING like that.

Depends on your needs for the room and your budget, but we were happy with the change from a 4 to 3 season option, based on the price alone!

tough question to answer. is this an existing porch you want to convert into a living space?

there are a lot of variables. type of construction, type of finishes, use of room [any plumbing], type of foundation, code requirements.

if you are altering existing generally you can cost it out by square footage for any changes you need to make.

if it is new construction you could spend either side of $100 per square foot depending on how much work you do yourself and what type of construction you select. An aluminum patio enclosure on a slab could be done for $50 to $100 per Sq ft. A complete contractor job could cost you as much as $100 to $200 per Sq ft.
