Or am I overreacting?
I've been having these horrible pains on the right side of my chest for a few days now....It feels like my rib or something is stabbing my lung. I'm making a doctor appointment today, but I'm a lil freaked out because I did some internet research, and everything that matched my symptoms sounded bad.

It also hurts when I breath, especially deep breathes.

the best thing to do is just probably go to the Doctor. If you dont go to the doctor then you wont know what it is for sure.

Posh, This sounds like it could be indigestion or it could be potassium cramping. I used to get the lung pains that you are describing and I was freaking out too. Is it very painful when you take a deep breath or when you try to sit up straight, but not as bad when you stay hunched over? If so try eating a banana, drinking fortified orange juice, take a multivitamin, anything to raise your potassium level a bit. A little bit of change can go a long way. I don't get those pains anymore because I changed my diet a bit to include more potassium rich foods and I now take a vitamin every day. My doctor really had no idea what to tell me other than it was a cramp. It was trial and error. I went through lung tests, breathing treatments, blood tests, x-rays, you name it. It didn't start going away untill I decided to change the way I was eating. (and no, I don't eat like a rabbit now. lol) I eat pretty much what I want but I include more fruit, grains, vegetables, and vitamins in my diet.

I had an experience once just like yours, cos I was always so rushed I was eating on the run, too busy doing for every other body in my family. Turned out to be indigestion, phew !! what a relief !! I wasn't sitting down to eat and taking my time !!

I'll bet you a zillion bucks it's gas. You probably think I'm joking. Try exercising and stretching- it happened to me before and gas is what caused it.
