The apple of my eye. My beautiful Lab, has recently been very ill to her stomach. The vet started her on a special Fish & Potato food, but it VERY expensive. Does anyone know where I could get a more affordable option?

If you were used to buying $20 to $25 for big bags of dog food, you probably will not find any fish and potato food in that price range, but you may maybe able to find something less than what the vet is charging.

Most of the speciality foods and super premiums will be sold in North America in small pet stores or co-ops rather than big name petstores like petsmart or in grocery stores. Once you find one of these small stores you can ask what they carry in fish and potato foods then you can compare number of cups to feed with price to find the best value

Natura Pets makes California Natural and they produce a Herring and Sweet Potato food this is their store locator

Natural Balance also make a Potato and fish food

Eagle Pack Holistic Select® Anchovy, Sardine & Salmon Meal Formula this has rice instead of potato

These links will help you to locate stores closest to you, the stores will likely carry a number of brands, then phone or go to and ask what they have in a fish and potato to choose from

Wellness (GREAT BRAND) has a fish and sweet potato formula- 35.99ish for 30 lbs that is not horrible.

Natural Balance has one too, but i am not sure on the price-

you didnt say what brand you were feeding, or the price. that would help other people i think.

Argentina? Austria? Australia?

cant help you without knowing where you are.

The cheaper foods often use more filler, more filler means you need to feed more. Read the ingredient list, NOT the price tag.
